Hello! I asked a similar question in another thread but got no responses so I'm trying it this way!

I have been looking up various bags to get to take with me to Disney. However, not seeing these in person I worry about the strap fitting properly (across the body or waist if fanny pack). I want to know before buying and paying return shipping!

Anyone have a recommendation of a bag that fits a pooh sized person???? Please help!!!! My DH also wants to get a fanny pack for himself and he is slightly pooh sized!

Some that I was looking at but I'm open to anything:
I wanted to get a Heys Travelmate but when I wrote and asked about strap length they told me it was 24 inches which is from my shoulder to hip on ONE side of my body! I don't get how this would fit anyone pooh sized or not. ???

I think that an Overland Donner bag strap seems to be an okay length but have not received confirmation from any source!

I bought a baggellini for my last trip that was like a larege sized wallet bag--a tad smaller than the VB hipster. It went across my quite pooh sized--though short--body and I could also put it around my waist (I use the term loosely since I have a beachball shape) as a fanny pack. My only issue with it is the strap broke the 3rd day. I have tried on the VB bags and they all go across my body and I like the soft straps. I have also tried on the donner overland that converts from across the body to fanny pack and it fit. Have you tried fanny packs from Junonia. That's where I got my plain fanny pack from.

Good luck! This is my problem as well. I'm fortunate enough to work in NYC, where there are many street vendors, as well as stores, so I get the chance to try everything before I buy it. I think you'll have an especially hard time with a fanny pack. I have one, but bought it years ago. My suggestion would be to try some sort of a Sporting Goods store, where they normally also carry men's sizes. I think you might find a fannypack there.

Bag for the Pooh Sized Folks

I have been thinking about this for awhile but didn't know how to phrase the question.

Thank you!

Hi - You can find them in Wal-Mart - You will have a choice of either blue or black, nothing fancy, but it gets the job done. The have an extension that you can use and adjust.

Try the thread on here called ~Pics of the bag your carrying into the parks~ it has the pictures you might need. I'm Pooh sized and I use the baggallini messanger and I LOVE IT! It's just big enough to fit all of what you need, but not to big. Of course it depends on what you need it for. You might like a smaller bag, but you'll see what others have bought or like on that thread.

not sure how big of a bag you want, but I am short and pooh sized and my Vera Bradley hipster and mini hipsters are perfect. The hipster has adjustable straps and I have mine hit me right at my hip. The mini hipster isn't adjustable, but it hits me just fine. I wear both of them crossed across my chest.

I love them because I have arthritis in my back and shoulder and they are light enough.

I have a couple of Overland Donner Placer bags that I love. They are alot smaller than the regular Overland Donner, but still have alot of room. They are small, light, hold everything I need, and their long strap fits me perfectly.

I am pooh-sized~ I found a fanny pack at Walmart that has an extra long strap. I use this when we travel to amusement parks with no problem! I am able to fit a small camera, wallet and other necessities in it with no problem. I found the fanny pack in early June in the purse section; since it is solid black, it could be used by either man or woman! Hope this helps!

THANK YOU all so much!!!!!

I felt so sad when no one responded to this question elsewhere.

Thanks for the information about the bags and how they fit. I will check out Walmart for DH's fanny pack. That will probably be the cheapest place to find one for him anyways.

I have looked at Baggelinis before but the across body one seemed big but since there are so many positives about this I will check it out further and look at all the suggested bags.

Thanks again ! :flower3:

I have the Hays TravelMate bag. I am also slightly pooh-sized. Just measured the strap (which I found long when I got it) and it is at the very least 42". I have no idea what the rep on the phone was talking about. She/He was seriously misinformed.

I love mine. It is a size a bit bigger than the e-bag terrace bag (my former favorite) and smaller than the messenger style bag I bought at the Animal Kingdom.

Whatever has a holder for my cell on the strap so I can actually hear it ring is good for me :rotfl2:

I can fit my Kindle in it and my mister. Love it!

I agree that the Placer is very small and light, but holds more than you would think. I think Aubiree is the one who said ( on another thread) she puts a Tide to Go pen in the second pen slot. I loved that tip! The OE bags are very well organized. Both the Vera Bradley hipsters (mini and regular) have really long straps.

You also might look into the VB Libby. One thing I like about all of these bags is that their straps are adjustable (well, the VB mini by tying a knot), so you can kind of re-distribute where they hit during the day, too.

:) I have carried my VB Mini Hipster to the parks the last two years. I am 5"4 and 220#. It is great if you only need to carry small wallet, thin camera, cell phone and map with tickets. I can also get a pair of sunglasses in there but they are usually oin my head. Like PP stated it does fit across very well. However, my Mom used the VB backpack (the small one) last year and really liked the wider straps and had the sides of her body free with better distribution of weight to her back. She is a tiny person but I tried it, too. I have purchased one and plan to use it on our next trip and alternate with the mini to see which I really like best. It will help DH carry some of his camera equipment, plus a bottle of water or snack.

I would like to carry a bag that is as small as possible but still fits everything I need.

Does the Placer bag have room for a water bottle? That is why I was considering the Donner since it has water bottle slots but if the placer would fit one, the smaller the better!

Thank you Chedstro for the info about the Heys Travelmate! I had a feeling that that rep was not really measuring correctly or understanding my question!

Etoiles, the Placer does not have a spot for a water bottle. There is an open pocket in back, but I think the bag would have to be pretty much empty to get a water bottle in there.

OE used to make a bag called the Loie (don't know if you can still find one or not), that was bigger than the Placer, but smaller than the Donner. It has a thinner strap like the one on the Placer, and a side pocket for a water bottle. I don't know why they quit making that bag. Like you, I prefer a smaller bag. I won't even carry a water bottle in my bag because of the weight. I pretty much buy a bottle, and drink it down as fast as I can or carry it in my hand until its gone!

I bought a bag at Payless last year. It fits across me very well, and had lots of room. My pooh sized friend also purchased one and we are so happy we did.
It said American Eagle was the brand, but bought at Payless.

I am also Pooh sized (5'7" and size 20) and I bought the Heys Travelmate for our last trip to the World. Love it ! The strap is way long enough, it holds all my stuff, including bits and pieces for DS 11 and DS 6 and DH. There are also enough pockets that, for me at least, nothing gets lost. Also, I love not having to take it off for any rides !

It looked really great from all the info I could find about it so I went ahead and ordered it! I will report back with how it fits/feels when I get it!

I ordered the travelmate a few weeks ago and while I do love the size of the actual bag I am a little disappointed in the the length of the strap. I am quite tall and fluffy (or pooh sized if you prefer) and I thought it was borderline too short. I have decided to keep it but I do wish the strap was a little longer. I am trying to decide however if I want to exchange it for the black one. I ordered the pink and when it arrived the color was quite a different shade. I bought mine from bagsbuy.com it was 30 but there is a code save10 that I read on the board plus 10% off for joining the website and free shipping. I don't know if you can still use the codes but it is worth checking it out.
