Help, we have always had a stroller - now we won't!

We will have a video camera (small), SLR + 200 lens, and med-lg digital camera (10x optical zoom makes camera bigger - mini SLR)

Need recommendations for fanny pack or back pack to safely keep all of our cameras yet have easy access to them, low cost and not so big.

We will only have the video camera with us a couple of days.

We also need room for rain ponchos etc - could do seperate pack back.

I would recommend a Lowepro camera carrying solution products. They have a variety of different models to choose from depending on what you are planning to carry to include the weight and size of your equipment.

They are very durable and definately will protect your electronic equipment in an amusement park or wilderness adventure. Cheap case options do not hold up with use and typically have danger spots exposing your electronics to impact as you carry them. I learned this with experience...using cost as a primary factor can cost you later in a variety of ways. Low cost products also fail to carry heavy loads without some type of issue (material failure, body discomfort, etc.)

Overall, you need to judge and balance the cost of the case and the value of the equipment. Also, you might want to ask yourself if the lower cost options provide you all the functions you want and need. In my experience, overlooking this aspect or downplaying it at the time of purchase will result in the case sitting in the closet or an attitude resulting in you using/taking your camera with you less often because of it's inconvience.

I have four (toploader, shoulder case, camera pouch and beltpack) different Lowpro cases in a variety of sizes, purposes and cost ranges. While you might think they cost more...their worth it for their durability, protection and function.

Take your cameras with you to the store and see how everything fits to truly know if a case option is going to meet your needs...don't forget easy access too. Nothing worse than using a lot of time to get to, use, return, and secure an item back to a case.

Hope some of my information helps.

I also use a photo backpack. One is a larger full size backpack (LowePro Mini Trekker) that will hold SLR, 3 lenses, flash, digicam, and very compact digital camcorder. Plus is has a large front pocket. I don't always carry everything and will use empty space for snacks or other items.

I also have a smaller convertible backpack/shoulder bag (Tamrac Velocity 7) that will hold the SLR, lens and flash or the digicam, flash, and camcorder.

I would also strongly recommend you take your equipment along to the photo store and see how it fits. My SLR is a bit on the large size and it took a bit of searching to find a small bag it would fit in.

In addition to LowePro, Tamrack makes a nice line of backpacks.
