Does anyone know how we get our luggage tagged if we are doing the bag drop at Manchester? We're going to do online check-in, but it's got me wondering that Virgin have never sent us any tags :confused3

Cheers for any help :thumbsup2

You don't just turn up and drop your bags off. You still have to go through the process of having your bags weighed, passports and boarding cards checked etc so you will be able to ask for bag tags at this point.

All you are doing is getting a head start on all the other passengers who will be checking in on the day of the flight. It's very easy and well worth doing to know you don't have to rush or be delayed in long queues the day of your flight.

We just put our own tags on with our name and destination and the airline barcode tags take care of the rest.

Okay thanks camac, we've never done it so I wasn't sure what the procedure was.

David, if I had thought to buy some, that's what I woulda done ;) As long as we can get them there i'm not too worried tho.

Hi Paul
We haven't put luggage labels on for about 2 years now, everything is computerized so not needed, many people don't put labels on but put an A4 sheet inside with their details on incase anything goes wrong with the system.
If you still want to use labels but wanted something a bit more Disney then this site has some ready made designs to print off http://www.themouseforless.com/downloads/trip/DisneyLuggageTags.shtml

Same here, though every airline i've flown with has had tags at the check-in desk in case people want to use them :)

On a sort-of related note....

Is the bag drop desk easy to find? I assume it's next to the Virgin check-in desks?

And thanks for the idea Wayne. I'm gonna print off a sheet with our name, address, flight details, etc and put it in the front pocket of the case, just for safe measure :thumbsup2

Last time we did bag drop at Manchester is was between all the others, if I remember rightly economy to left Premium/Upper to right, then when there was no-one at bag drop they pulled from the other lines. Never had to wait more than 1 family either at MAN or MCO for bag drop, great service.
That was Xmas, hope its the same.

Almost time to go, is it really 2 years since you were there?
Hope you enjoy even more than last time.

Yeah, it's been a quick 2 years Wayne! We only started booking stuff in October, but the last 6 months have just flown by. In fact I phoned junior when I was at work yesterday, and the first thing he said to me was "Dad, this week has just flown in!" - I had been thinking the exact same thing myself lol. Usually the last week is the worst :confused3

I'm just hoping time starts to slow itself down very soon

And thanks for the nice comment. We're gonna have an amazing time! ;) I feel a lot more relaxed about this time, although i'm still prone to the odd panic moment when i'm thinking something is amiss lol. We have a whole new experience this time spending 8 days down in St Petes, now I just want the fun to begin! :thumbsup2
