I know this may seem like a common sense question, but does anyone know if there is an official listing somewhere for what qualifies as a bag that needs to go through bag check at the parks? I'm asking because I purchased a small wallet that has a wrist strap, and I'm not sure if that is considered a "bag" or not. It does not hold anything other than a cell phone and a place for ID, cards, and money, but there is a zipper which makes me think it may qualify for a check. It looks like this:

I'm sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place. Thank you for your help.

Yep, a bag!! If you hide it under your clothing (in pocket, whatever) and have to go through the detector, anything medal can set off the detector, and usually they have you empty your pockets anyway - at least that's what dh has to do every time, as he doesn't have a bag.

Thank you all for your responses. I was leaning toward it counting as a bag, but needed the confirmation.

I would say anything that you carry is a bag. I've seen a few try and sneak something under the coat. If you get pulled aside for the metal detector, and they find the bag (which they probably will), security will not be happy.

The last time I went they insisted on going through my neck passport holder, so I am fairly certain this would co7nt as a bag. I am not quite sure why men’s wallets are OK, but women’s are not.

Because a typical men's wallet can't hold anything other than money and cards. I've carried a true women's wallet (one with no zippers or closures) without issue.

I, for one, am glad for the heightened security at bag checks. I always felt like it was a joke when people would come in like pack rats with their cargo pockets stuffed, then not go through bag check, or a the moderator suggested above, just put your small bag in a pocket.

Is it perfect now and foolproof?? No! But they have made it better than it was. It actually doesn't take 'that' long for this extra security.

I have one of those small coach credit card wallet with a tiny zipper space to carry dollar bills and change- about 3" x 4".
I had it in my small backpack with a few other things.
Well they pulled it out and told me to unzip it!! They also made me take my small pocket camera out of it's case and opened the tiny zipper on that that is just big enough to hold a few SD cards.
:confused3

I always seem to get the really thorough overachievers when I go thru bag check!

We were there the last week of September and saw a lot of Ladies with that size wallet/clutch stopped and sent to bag check.

I've used one of those before and still had to go through bag check. To help expedite the process, have all zippers unzipped on your bags/wallets/etc. when you go up to the security check.

I have a flat zippered pouch on my lanyard that literally holds a few credit cards and bills. I go through the no bag line every time. Once in a while, I will be asked to open it at the no bags line but I have never been turned away and sent back to the bag line.
