I have been reading that bag check for hotel guests now happens just outside the hotel so you can walk straight down to the turnstiles in the morning without having to stop.

Has bag check moved for guests using the buses or coming from the car park or train station or is it the same as it was before.:goodvibes

I didn't know about this. Would be interested to know too.

I would love to know this too. Leaving in 10 days. Seems like that could really save some time.

I think it's the old system for those using buses from hotel or coming via train. The one beside the HNY was great very quick.....put bag on conveyor for scan say bonjour to guy manning it and it's done then forget about bag checks until next day or I'd you return to hotel x

That's how it was three weeks ago, yes. We're planning to head back Friday for Pin Trading Night. I'll try to keep an eye on it.

How do they know who's come from a hotel and who's got off the bus? Is the entrance to the park from the village different now?

When we were there in December, and I don't think it's changed, there was a bag check at the top of village when coming from the hotels. You then walked through the village and were funnelled around past World of Disney, behind fencing, and on to the park entrances.

When coming from the station the bag check was across the plaza area from the station exit then you went round the corner into the Disneyland Park.

I found this worked fine when coming to the parks in the morning but it was a bit of a pain having to walk round past WOD and almost to the entrance to the village before you could get out and walk over to the station.

Thanks everyone for your replies - if I am understanding this correctly then if we were coming from the train station for EMH in the morning and arrived at 7.50 we would still have to queue and wait for the bag check to open at 8.00but if we were coming from a hotel we would be able to walk right down and queue at the turnstiles ready for 8.00? Is this true or have I misunderstood? :goodvibes

No, you misunderstood. You will still have to pass through a bag check when coming from the hotels. This bag check just outside of Cafe Mickey. I honestly have no idea when it opens. I always do my character rounds in the mornings and end passing it past 8 AM.

Sorry yes I didn't explain myself very well I meant once we had passed the bag check at the village we would be able to walk straight to the turnstiles to queue ready for 8.00. :goodvibes

I hadn't thought that maybe the village bag check wouldn't be open before EMH started. Surely it must be open because people would be going to café mickey for breakfast - does anyone know?

This should make it easier to get to DLH for dinner without having to get a CM to let you through the old bag check area when the park is closed. :goodvibes

Bag check was open as we went through at 7:30......

Bag check is open nearly all the time as people go in and out of the village all day and late into the night.

This sounds a lot better for us hotel guests :thumbsup2 Look forward to trying it out in a few weeks :)

:goodvibes Thanks for all the info. Sounds like it is definitely easier for the guests walking from the hotels.

I can understand why it might be a bit of a pain getting out to the station though! :confused3

Does the bag check for guests not coming from hotels still open at 8.00? If so is there any reason why they couldn't walk over and go into the village (doing bag check at the entrance) and then walk down to the turnstiles with the hotel guests?

If it is the same as when we went in October there is no way you can get to the village from the carpark/train station unless you go through the bag check first as it is all fenced off. The only way you could have done this is when you could park at the hotel and walk through the village.

It is quite cheeky now as they make you walk past World of Disney on your way out of the parks to either the village or the carpark.

So coming from the station/buses we would have to go through bag check going towards the park then turn back on ourselves to get into the village?

On our previous trips we have always tried to get to bag check before it opened at 8.00 knowing we would be some of the first down to the turnstiles - with only the people staying at DLH ahead of us. This new system means that there will be a lot more people ahead of us :confused3 (assuming the park bag check still opens at 8.00)
