Looks like the main stream press is picking up on the problems and upset guests on the Forbidden Journey in the new Harry Potter World.

Pretty much matches what I thought while there. Although Myrtle in the washroom was neat. I kept thinking there were so many missed opportunities.

While watching the video in the first link, I thought, "Hagrid is going to be disappointed when they reach the FJ ride."
Sure enough, no Hagrid on the ride (at least in the video).
Hmmmmm....wonder if they pushed the bar down for that third click?

Yes, I believe it was in Aaron's (ADP) trip report where the guy in front of him was told "No" and he said "But I rode it yesterday without a problem!"
Nope, not today, didnt click.

ETA...Nope, wasn't Aaron's report, just went and checked, but I know I read it somewhere, or heard it somewhere, podcast maybe...Oh well.

Thanks for posting this. Good article. I've haven't been to HP, but this guy said alot of the things I was thinking from what I've seen. One of things that bugged me that I know seems pretty trivial was the owls, I just could not believe the owls in the owlery don't move, I even asked someone about them on the Universal board and they said no, they sat and watched them for awhile and none of them moved. That's just a no brainer to me and not all that difficult to do and yet, there are just a bunch of fake non-moving owls sitting up in the rafters. The things moving in the fake shop windows didn't impress me either. Just a couple of the little things that made me think HP World was probably going to be a disappointment for me.

The above link leads to a really well done video by an Orlando news station on the WWoHP. It also completely contradicts the statement of the owls not moving. I think that is within the first 5 minutes or so. Not only does it show the owls moving, but it shows different owls moving in different ways (eyes moving, wings moving, head moving, etc)

I read that article a couple days ago, and thought it was scathing. I was amazed the fellow had a publicist with him, and he still had a bad review.

I enjoyed WWoHP throughly but there are some issues. The ride not being able to handle some of the guests and shops being far too small.

The wand show is so cramped you can't move without a crow bar.

I loved it but it will be interesting how they handle these issues. Also they had some good ideas. Like having the waitresses in the Hogs Head taking orders for drinks and bringing them over for toursts in line for Ollivanders.

I keep hearing this rumor that Disney was in negociations for Harry Potter. Because honestly if Disney was going to JK Rowling they would have gotten it.

I'm not surprised that there are some who are disappointed and its now making the rounds. I think that the hype for this is so high that's it is impossible for everyone to be happy.

I was just listening to a Podcast today that was talking about Disney and JK Rowling, Disney did try to get Harry Potter. I don't know who ended the talks, JK or Disney, but from what they were saying on the Podcast, JK wanting certain things and Disney apparently wasn't willing to do or couldn't do everything she asked for. Personally I never thought Harry Potter was a good fit with Disney, but that's just MHO. I think they would have done a better job of it, but I think it fits in better at Universal.
