You may not be able to view 2026 FIFA World Cup matches on board Disney Cruise Line. They were not listed as official in sea broadcasters. Rivals owned by Carnival will be offering the matches live on the other hand.

The crew will probably be the most disappointed by this since it's probably the only sport most of them watch.

I was on a cruise in the summer of 18 and the world cup games were played. I know it can be different for 26, but just pointing out that I watched a lot of soccer during that cruise.

I was on the Dream during the 2023 Women's World Cup and it was so fun! It would be a bummer if DCL doesn't broadcast it, especially since I have plans to be on the Treasure during the Men's final next year ...

But just to be clear, couldn't they just how it on broadcast TV? When I was in the Periscope Pub last year they seemed to be showing all the major network's regular US feeds ...

Im doing the alaska cruise end of June, im pretty hopeful the pub on the magic will be showing it and surely espn will have some games? If not i will mutiny.

ESPN has never aired a World Cup game since 2014. It’s a Fox thing now. You may end up having to sneak off to a bar in one of the Alaskan ports (yes there is a Fox station in the state and cable is well accepted out there).

It appears FIFA is not making it available to any of the broadcasters that Disney has access to.

Yes but the network is FOX… which Disney doesn’t carry on stateroom TVs. The only time you’d be able to pick it up would be if you’re inside of the US ports. Disney is a partner of Sport24, an in cruise and in flight sports channel… but it’s not clear if fifa matches will be there…

We were on a Thanksgiving cruise on Princess I think it was 2023. NEVER AGAIN. New to Princess, we were excited for their “Movies Under the Stars,” but all they played was football 24/7. No movies. It was like being on a football cruise.
Unfortunately (?) it’s the most popular thing they could do that weekend I bet. Aside from the Super Bowl I think that weekend is huge for the sport. My family isn’t even that into football but it was always playing all day as we gathered for Thanksgiving as that’s just what you did, like watching the ball drop on NYE. Heck even on any weekend during the season I commonly see folk streaming games from wherever they are. Malls, Disney parks, even at hockey games folks have their phones out checking scores for other games. I assume it’s only gotten more prevalent and important now that betting via apps for just about anything under the sun has been popularized too.

Which makes it all the more amusing DCL won’t be able to show any of the word cup imo. I’d hope someone with a laptop or iPad would share in the bars if they’re going to stream games anyway. That’s what I’d do to justify paying for connectivity.

Not surprising… remember even Mickey’s ESPN is in on the action… they have NFL and NHL games of their own too.
