Bad news about Garden Grill!!!

I have heard Disney is now saying the Garden Grill is closed indefinitely. They may or may not reopen it. I thought it was only being closed while they added the Soarin attraction. Has anyone else heard this? We were wanting to attend the ice cream social during during our July10-16 trip. This is so discouraging!

very disappointed!!! I cancelled our Garden Grill PS last trip because some FL resident friends wanted to meet for dinner and was disappointed enough that it wouldn't be open for this trip but I figured I would just put it on the list for next year. I sure hope it does reopen!!!

I have a friend who was just transferred there as a manager. This is one of the most popular restaurants, especially for characters, so I can't imagine this is true.

We were in Epcot today and they were doing Castmember previews of Soarin'. The entrance was in back of Imagination, not through The Land. That is still barricaded off, so I couldn't see what was going on there. I will ask some friends who work in Epcot and see if they know the scoop.

We've been planning to do the Ice Cream Social for a year now and haven't made it yet. I was gonna do it on our trip in Oct. I sure do hope they reopen it by then......Here's hoping!

I called for PS today for May but started chatting with the CM and she told me that they are reopening in July - I told her I had heard they might close and she said that was not true -

The Garden Grill is one of our very favorites so I sure hope it reopens!!! We were disappointed that we wouldn't get to dine there during our June trip and now it may not reopen? Please keep us posted eeyore0062.

When I made my ps's for our trip we recently returned from, I was told by the ps agent that the Garden Grill was closed until sometime in May... don't remember the date, but I do remember that it was later than ythe scheduled opening of Soarin...

Unless the construction of Soarin' has physically eliminated the space where GG was/is, I can't imagine they wouldn't have a restaurant in there.

Garden Grill will re-open on July 8, 2005 ....that's what I was told earlier today when I was making some priority seating arrangements.

Whew! I love GG - the catfish is great! We were rehitched there a couple years ago. I hope it reopens; if I can't there this May or June, then how about for my Oct trip? Please!
