St Thomas today.

We awoke to more fabulous hot and humid weather and enjoyed breakfast in Topsiders. We sat outside to eat it and admired the view of St Thomas.
We took some photos then met up with Gary, Joh and Daniel to disembark. Nat and the kids had decided to just have a wander around port and do a bit of shopping.

We had bought tickets for the Skyride (a cable car) to Paradise Point, so headed to that first. We booked through Disney as, for some reason, it worked out cheaper than buying the tickets when we got there.

The views from the top were magnificent.

We took plenty of photos and walked around the nature trail; there were a few animals including a very licky goat, and we spotted a teeny hummingbird in a tree.

We stopped for drinks in the bar at the top. Gary and I had the Bushwacker , a Baileys cocktail, which was very nice. Daniel had a mango smoothie.

Poor Daniel was really starting to flag at this point. He did very well to keep up with us in the heat.

It was really, unbearably hot (although I like it like this, the others were very uncomfortable) and there was no air conditioning and not even a breeze.

We headed back down and had a look around the shops before heading back to The Magic.. Joh, had spotted a K-Mart from the top, which looked to be nearby. As they needed an extra suitcase for the return journey, they decided to walk up to K-Mart and meet us back at the ship later.

Tony and I had lunch at Lumieres.

This turned out to be one of our favourite meals of the trip. Tony had chicken consommé and I had tomato brushetta to start with and then we both had butternut squash risotto which was creamy and delicious. For dessert, Tony had lemon mousse and apple strudel and I had cheesecake.

We were served by our usual server, who is Turkish, and she taught us some Turkish words so we could use them later when we saw her at dinner.

After lunch, we joined the others for swimming, sunbathing and reading, and met up with fellow Parley-ers Wendy and Richard.

We took lots of photos from the ship as it pulled away from St Thomas and I managed to catch the horns blowing on the camcorder. The Freedom of the Seas was also in port and blew its horn at us as we passed by. The Magic responded with “When you wish upon a star” and everyone cheered.

Later on, we all went to watch the “Who wants to be a Mouseketeer” quiz. We were all given a ticket with a number on it and Ellie’s number was called out. She and Nat went up to answer the questions and did very well, winning an exclusive Mouseketeer pin each. A few other people were called up and had a go and got very easy questions. Then Tony’s number was called and he and Daniel had a go, also winning a pin each. We definitely thought the questions our lot got were harder than anyone elses!

Dinner tonight was at Lumieres.

We all tried escargot, even the children, which I thought was brilliant of them as I would never have done that at their ages.

After dinner, we all went to Rockin’ Bar D to watch Freddy Fusion’s show of magic and illusion and then the “Match Your Mate” quiz. The quiz was funny even though some of the contestant’s were a bit quiet. Tisa, the host, was very good and still managed to make it fun to watch.

Tomorrow: Our last “At Sea” day.

I'm reading this on a cold, raining, miserable morning - what I'd give for a bit of that sunshine and heat!

A lovely, relaxing day :goodvibes and how I laughed at the photo of Joh and her children's plate! :lmao:

What a great holiday and St Thomas looks lovely. I agree the kids were brave trying snails. I Had them once..... never again

Little kids plates are fine as long as they are accompanied by a 'big kids' drink! :drinking1 :goodvibes

I like the way you think... A woman after my own heart!!! :woohoo:
