Quick background here: we were suppose to go to Hawaii in Oct but had to cancel because of an illness in the family.

We can't go again until April so DH said yesterday we should take the kids to Disneyland for a few days instead!!!

The only days we can really go are the 19th-24th.

Just how busy will it be?? I know the 21st is the start to the holiday season and Thanksgiving is later that week after we leave.

Should I just hold off until a quieter time?

Any input would be GREATLY appreciated as it's only 3 weeks away and I need to start planning!!

I believe the times between Halloween and thanksgiving are the quieter times of the holiday season...that and the beginning of December...

Kids aren't off school yet, and it is well before thanksgiving holiday. You should be fine!!

You will be there before Thanksgiving so you should be fine. Of course there will be crowds but it should be manageable. Don't forget to utilize your FP's and you should have a fine time.

We'll be there the same time and were there in the same time frame last year. The beginning of your trip should be great. Low crowds on Wed-Thur. Bang out as much as you can in those first two days. The holiday season officially begins on Friday, with parade, fireworks, IASWH, etc. As the day goes on, the crowds will build. The weekend days should also be kind of crowded, but not crazy like Christmas week, or the weekend OF Thanksgiving. But if you get a bunch "done" in the first couple of days, you can just enjoy all of the holiday offerings and tour at a more leisurely pace. We love DLR during the holiday season, so I agree that it is worth the crowds to see it then!

The weekend before Thanksgiving is my favorite weekend to go. It may be busy on Friday the 21st. That's day day they'll be filming the Disneyland Christmas special. There will be huge crowds where they're filming but if your not interested in that, just head for the rides! Have a great time!
