My stylist moved, so I decided to try a different salon. I had a choppy, funky shag, but it was 8 weeks grown and needed a lift. I told the stylist that I don't have time to muss and fuss and I believe a great cut needs no styling products or blow drying. I need to get up, run my fingers through and go. I told her I wanted it shorter, but still long enough to tuck behind my ears and enough length in the back to flip out (it does this naturally) around to frame my face. I told her I did NOT want an inverted bob or anything that was wedged in the back. Nothing asymetrical. Yes, I'm a bit particular about my cut, but when it's done right, it's perfect and I love it.
I walked out with hair less than an inch long on the back of my head (she even had to shave part of my neck at the end
), nothing long enough to STAY tucked behind my ears. It looks like a short Dorothy Hamill, perfectly 70s feathered and all. I was in shock, but had to get to an MRI appointment, so I paid and left. Once home, when I realized I can do NOTHING with this hair, I called the manager who just kept telling me what a wonderful stylist this was and how they've NEVER had a complaint. She finally offered to give me a free haircut the next time. I don't WANT a free haircut if this is a "great stylist" (who can't even LISTEN to the client).
Do I call the $$ a lesson learned or would you file a dispute? I'm SO peeved and it's going to take MONTHS for it to grow back to shag length again.
