Bad Grammar in E-mail from School Superintendent

To use the word "idiot" on this guy is kind of harsh, isn't it? If that was the only mistake he made, I'll let it go. If there is more than 2 or more, then maybe he is not such a bright guy. I would be concerned. But I still wouldn't call him an idiot. Someone who is not a smart "A" student, I wouldn't call that student idiot.

I wouldn't say he is an idiot. I just think that attention to detail from someone in his position is important. And if his secretary wrote it, she should have more attention to detail.

guess what bothers me the most about all of this is that more and more these days, people use the, "I'm human, I make mistakes," angle to not care about their jobs.

That's just an excuse.

I'm so sick of excuses. Why can't people take responsibility and say, "Hey, you know what? There is no excuse for that mistake. I'm sorry for it and I'm going to do what's expected of a person in my position."

I agree with you 100%!!! I don't know the man, I don't know much about the man, but this first impression hasn't been a good one.

LOL...sorry I had to laugh OK.. "dumb" sounds better, I guess.. Who knows maybe it was a typo and you know sometimes those keyboard, they're malfuction, the key gets stuck and maybe he accidentally or maybe his secretary accidentally hit the send key and just forgot to proofread it. OH well..

CRSNDSNY : I did not say that you called him an idiot. My point to you was that all superintendents may not be educators. If you thought I was referencing your post when I gave my opnion, I apologize for the lack of clarity.

Anorher poster responded that improper word usage made the person look like an idiot. I expressed my opnion that I did not think the superintendent deserved that label.
