Does this thing come with Brakes!?!
With DD not feeling too well the night before, had decided to forgo Donald's Breakfast and let her sleep in. I also failed to mention that the previous day she had talked me into going Horseback Riding! For this she could not feel ill!LOL
Because she has slept in there was no time for any real breaky so it's those Breakfast bars to the rescue!
We head out over to MK to catch the ferry over to the campground! Let's see how DD fairs on the open lake! What a beautiful ride over! Why hadn't we taken the ferry before? The sun shining, wind blowing thru your hair! So Relaxing! This is the first time seeing the campground from this side. Nice place! We take the internal bus over to the stable area and check in! We arrive a little bit early and it's getting hot! And it's only 10:00 a.m.! We start talking to the others and how they only just made their ressies that morning and were surprised that they could get in, etc. I guess people just don't think about doing this. Well it's time to get our horses! Mind you this is my second time on a horse even though I said it was my first. Forgot that in my younger days had done this back home! They bring me a horse called Tom! He seems tame enough. Ok, now remember this, it was DD's Idea to do this, I did not want to nor really willing but I knew just how much DD loves to ride! Or so I thought! The boy before her, who kept bragging how wonderful, blah, blah, blah, decides not to go and won't get on his horse! I'm confuse. What does this kid know that I don't! While his mom and sis are trying to convince him, Tom decides he does not want to wait any longer and unhitches himself and starts walking backwards! They are right when they say "A horse can smell FEAR!" He senses that I'm a little nervous at this point and starts doin' a little jig! OK! I thought these were trail horses and they don't do much of anything! Not Tom! I guess it was his way of saying "Let's get outta here!" "I'm hot and wanna go!" A CM came over and calmed him down and me! At this point and time, the boy has decided that he won't go and it's DD's turn to get on a horse! NOT! She started wondering also, why after all his bragging! What does he know that he isn't telling! Oh no you Don't! I'm on this thing already, I'm not getting off so you have no choice but to get on 'cause I can't leave you here! Let's go before Tom decides to do something Funky again! Finally, we're off! They follow a trail which takes about a half hour to do and it was very nice except for the few mosquitoes! Luckily they loved the guy in front, so mostly attacked him! The rest of us escaped with only a few bites! Him, you could have played connect the dots!LOL
After the ride we were both famished! DD was glad she got on and I was happy when we got off! And yes, you do walk funny after sitting on a horse for that short of time! We ended up at the Trail's End Buffet just as they were about to close for Breakfast! They were kind enough to let us in but I found it strange that the waitress thought that they should not have. I think they only reason that they did because there was a huge party in there still eating!
They had a good selection of breakfast fare. They also had my favourite bisquits and gravy, which I tried, but was never able to find ones to replace my fav ones from Shoney's! At least up until now! They were even fluffier! Up until now have not been impressed with Disney's but will definately know now where to go! I also took a few pieces of fruit for later because this actually was brunch for us! We took the ferry back over to MK. We had mentioned to the Skipper how we managed to get breakfast at Trail's End and how wonderful the food was and how cheap! He said, and I quote, "It's Disney's best kept secret!" And I agree. So if you are looking a great meal and don't need characters! Head on over!
At this point and time decided we don't want to head into the parks for fear of smelling like horses and head back to AKL! At this time it's decided that we will lounge by the pool until it's time for our ps for California Grille! Or as DD put it, time for more Steakie! She tried to convince me to go back to Jiko's but told her that on another trip! I was tempted but wanted to try something different and since DD was going to Pin Trading at the Contemporary, we would be right there!
While at the pool, spotted someone who had a Tiley type hat, so I had assumed that it might be MikeJ. I swam to their vacinity but after listening to the party talk realized that they had a English Accent! Could not be MikeJ. It was at this point and time that I did recognize Noel! I yell out to Cass, "Where's My Chicken!" BTW, never did get a chicken! Cass and I talked for awhile but alas we had to leave to get ready for our next adventure! We said our goodbyes, hope to see you again, yadda, yadda, yadda!
Ok, this was the night that we were to take an Illuminations Cruise but was never told the Whens, Wheres, or Whatfors so decided that instead of running from one pier to the other, we would forgo this event and DD would do her Pin Trading instead!
We headed over to the CF and waited for our table. We are taken over to a table by the window and the view is spectacular! Of course, DD takes the better seat with view of MK! We are given the menus and DD knows what it is she wants! STEAKIE!(Fillet Mignon!) I've created a monster! She asks the waitress where the beef is from, whether it is from Austraulia like at Jiko's? It turns out it's from the U.S. and DD decides she will still give it a try!LOL The waitress gives us the lowdown and I had my heart set on the Sushi Sampler but when informed that it was considered an entree decided on the California Rolls instead. DD started with the flatbread. And of course for dinner, Steakie for both! What a MEAL! The California Rolls just melted in your mouth! And it could have been a meal in itself! Good thing we had that late breaky! The flatbread was delish but DD found it a bit too spicey but after taking the chicken off, found it to her liking. The fillets were supurb. During dinner we ordered the White Chocolate Ice Cream with the Chocolate Cake with the Chocolate Ganouche inside! Apparently it is prepared fresh and extra time is needed to prepare it in time for the end of your meal. We order it and split it! Ok, I'm not a great Chocolate Lover but this desert was to die for! DD was too full at this point and time, so she let me have it all! Little did she realize, I was not willing to share! This desert was the best darn thing since sliced bread! What do they say, Chocolate is the next best thing to S*X! Boy this desert sure is! As DD is reminding me that Pin Trading is starting! I come back to reality! As usual, we roll on out! and head back downstairs.
DD gets in line for the Children's portion of the Pin Trading Event and I go looking around to see who is all there. There are quite a few new faces there and the guy who collects Tink was not there tonight. Tonight was to be DD's night! She managed to win a prize of an signed Artists Pin and she got the Illusive Pooh pin which she proceeded to trade for a Tigger Pin. We had also met a family from Kitchener and one of their son's won that night too! We jokingly said, it was Canada's Night!
This was the best pin event DD had been too! She was in tears from being so happy! She decided she had had enough for she feared she would lose her beloved Tigger Pin! So off we went to DTD! again. By this time we had all our Summer Vacation Pins, so off to collect our free Pin! Of course, since the free pin was a build a pin, she picked Stitch to place on it, in honor of our "Lunch with a Disney Artist"! She managed a few more trades while we were there but with all the excitement of this fabulous evening, decided to head back to AKL
Another Magical Day had by all!
