Backstage/Underground Tour

Hello All! I am headed to WDW in May but I have a friend going down this decemeber. Her husband is an engineer and she booked him on the 'backstage/underground tour' (I don't know the actual name of the tour) to see all the interworkings of Disney. She wnats to know what anyone who has done it thinks of it or any tips! Thanks!!!

I recommend the Backstage Tour to all. You find out a lot of good fun facts about the different parks and Disney.

My guess is this is either the Keys to the Kingdom (backstage/underground at the Magic Kingdom only) or the Backstage Magic Tour (goes backstage at all four parks except Animal Kingdom).

I took the Keys to the Kingdom tour in Sept 2004, and had a BLAST! It was great getting to learn more about how things work and some of the intricate details of the Magic Kingdom.

In addition to the tour you've booked, I'd have someone get him a copy of The Imagineer's Field Guide to the Magic Kingdom. I believe the Epcot version is coming out soon as well.

Has anyone taken the Backstage Magic Tour recently. When we took it in October it was supposed to include backstage at the Wonders of Life/Body Wars. But since Body Wars was closed we didn't go.

Now that the Wonders of Life pavilion is officially shut down, I'm wondering if anything has been substituted for that part of the tour.

We did get to see Mark Twain without his hair and jacket, however.

If your talking about the Keys to the Kingdom tour at MK, I'd highly recommend it! It was very interesting! You get personal tours on some rides with background and stories about them. Lunch! Alot of detailed information about the park and access to employee areas, behind the attractions. Lunch! It's a great tour if you love MK!

I've gone on it twice and each time was a little different. I found it quite interesting to see and learn about things that are "back stage" and how each detail is thought through.

The tour guides were wonderful. I would definitely recommend it for any one who likes to fing out how things work at WDW.
