Has anyone ever gone on the Backstage Magic tour? Could you please tell me more about what goes on? Is it worth the money?

I also heard that there is a tour that you can go on that tells more about the stories behind the Haunted Mansion ride, does anyone know what ride that is? Or is it part of one of the other tours?

The Keys To The Kingdom tour includes a background story for HM, as well as lots of other MK info.

Most guests actually do the "Keys to the Kingdom" tour. It is a little bit shorter, and much cheaper, and you still get to see most of the things you would see on the "Backstage Magic" tour. I loved the "Keys to the Kingdom" tour, and I am trying to plan one of the EPCOT tours into my itinerary for my next trip. If you love Disney, you will truly get into these tours!

My husband and I did the Backstage Magic tour in July. We really enjoyed it. Yes, it was more money. But I think it was well worth it. We started our day at Epcot. We were able to see behind the scenes at the American Adventure. (Amazing to see what's underneath the stage!!!!) Then we also so Body Wars. We were able to see Cast Member Services (where they get their costumes from). We went over to MGM and saw how they design costumes from start to finish. They were refurbishing the spectromagic costumes and we were able to lift them up and see how heavy they were. Lunch was included at Mama Melrose. They took us to the Imagineering workshops and saw how they made signs and rides. They took us to the Christmas Warehouse where they keep all of the Xmas decorations for the entire resort. We also saw the parade floats backstage at MK and more stuff that I just can't remember off hand. It was a FULL day. They have a bus that takes you from place to place. It's airconditioned and you get bottled water. It gave me an entirely new insight into WDW. I highly reccommend it.:)

We did the tour this past Thursday. It was a little different than Noelle's tour. Since Wonders of Life is closed, we didn't see body wars, nor did we see the floats backstage. Actually, we saw the parade itself.

I think the tour is adjusted based on how much time is taken at each stop.

We got to see the DisneyFlorist shop (got to walk into their cooler - didn't want to leave:D ), and the maintenance building with their machine shop, carpentry, shop, and sheet metal shop etc.

My goal is to go on the "Innovations in Action" tour. It is a special private tour four at least 10. You get to see much more of the behind the scenes - laundry facilities, water treatment, dry dock where they pull the ferry boats out to work on them, etc. I just need to get 9 other people interested.

I remembered another thing we saw...The Utilidors. I guess this is a "big" thing for people to want to see. It was interesting. They explained their purpose and everything. The one thing that really amazed me is that they have to sort through the majority of the garbage to "pull out" recycleables. I was amazed at that. So now I make sure to hold onto my water bottle until I find a recycleable trash can. :)

Sad, they aren't showing Body Wars anymore. They took us underneath it, so we could see the ride working.

I'd love to do the Innovations in Action tour. But my family is nowhere near 9 people.

We did see the Parade too. That was actually the last thing we saw on our tour.

Again, I HIGHLY recommend the tour to anyone who's been to Disney a few times and just wants to see how they do it. You'll be amazed at how much thought they put into things.:)
