I read one post that the person did not care for this tour. Please do not let that discourage you if you have been thinking about taking this tour.
My husband and i took the tour in 2001 and throughly enjoyed it. I highly recommend it to anyone who has the means.
Ie: Money- It cost $199.00+tax per person, this includes lunch.
Theme park admission is not included or required, must be 16 yrs. or older and have valid photo identification (security reasons).
Call (407) WDW TOUR to participate.

my husband and i also did the tour. it was great we loved it so much that we are talking my sister when she turns 16.:earsgirl: :earsboy:

I took the tour earlier this year and I did enjoy it. I can easily see how someone that has never been Backstage would just love it. Being a Disney Store CM, I had been backstage and therefore, it was not near as much a thrill for me as it otherwise might have been. I also know that they have cut out several things that they used to do, like getting a swatch of fabric from one of the character's costumes, not offered to us on our tour, but they used to do that.

The best part for me was seeing "behind the scenes" of several of the attracations. I found them all to be very impressive.

If you are a frequent Disney visitor and looking for something that you normally don't get to do, this tour is just the thing.

Our lunch at Momma Melrose's was fantastic.

My DH and I took this tour also and we loved it. We've been to Disney numerous times and wanted to do something a little different. The food at Mama Melrose's was excellent and our guide was terrific. The information they give you makes the parks that more enjoyable for us. I recommend it to anyone who has the extra money to spend (like Pooh67_68 said - it's $199.00 + tax per person) and the time to do it.

Don & June,
The backstage magic tour, is a behind the secens tour of the
magic kingdom, epoct, and mgm. Ie: how certian things are ran and a look at the tunels under mk. It is about 7 hours and that includes lunch at momma melrose's a restaurant at mgm.
Just call Disney and tell them you would like to speak to someone about the tours they offer.

So does that mean that you do not need to use a PH day to join the tour. Can you remain in MK after the tour?

CdnDisney Nut,
No you won't use a ph day to do the tour. When we met the tour guide it was on the outdise of Epcot,( befor you entered the park its self). And no you can not stay inside mk once the tour is done, they drop you off right where they pick you up.

I took the Backstage Tour in late December 1999. I truly loved it. The time on the tour simply flew. I am going back in October and have signed up for the tour again.

p.s. I would describe my favorite parts, but that would spoil the surprise for those who haven't gone.;)

Do you get to actually go on the major ride attractions on this tour? Or is it strictly "backstage" as the name implies?

This tour sounds very interesting... my only concern (aside from $$) is that it might take away some of the Magic of Disney. Has anyone felt that way after the tour?
Thanks!

Lighte

displanner, strictly backstage as the name implies.

Lighte, No i never felt that it took away from the Disney Magic.
As for me personally it actually added, because i felt now i know
what a few CM's know, plus I now have some information that the people who didn't take this tour don't know. :)
