Thanks for all the great advice,

Can you keep a backpack with you at all times? Do you have to leave it somewhere if you are doing certain rides? and if so is there a place on the loading dock that you can leave things until you unload?

Thanks for the tips

We never left our back pack anywhere...fit on every ride and it was pretty packed with stuff. Was a little tight on Space Mountain but put it under my feet and it was fine. There are lockers but I find that I need my stuff with me, would hate to need an extra pair of shorts for my daughter if she had an accident only to have to travel the entire park to the lockers to get it.

Many ride entrances are different from where the exit is, so leaving your bag where you got on wouldn't work. Not really sure if you can ask a CM to take your bag to where the ride exits because we never tried this.......just easier to keep it with us.

We, too, have always taken a backpack and either left it on, or held it in front of us depending on the ride. I dont do Mission Space, so I hold it while my family gets on, so not sure if it would fit on that

Mission Space actually has one of the biggest areas to put a bag/stuff that I can think of. I didn't have a bag but others in the party got on all the various rides at one time or another with a typical sized pack. Including Splash Mountain; I don't recommend that idea unless you want a lot of wet stuff. ;) (It was just a mistake because a couple of us didn't go on it and could have held the packs!)

Disney rides are typically not set up to exit at the same place as entrance, so leaving your stuff where you got in doesn't work. The only ride I remember off the top of my head where we definitely got out at the exact spot we got in (but on the opposite side of the vehicle) is Goofy's Barnstormer. Rock n Roller Coaster actually has inverted elements so you might want to be careful with that one; that and Everest are the most intense rides in WDW (can't remember if Everest has inversions) but still, people in the party went on with bags somehow at times. Actually, though, the toughest may be Tower of Terror, because of the way that works. I'd be slightly worried for that one; not sure if anyone else had a bag with them when I rode it.

We take our backpack on everything, even Rock N Roller Coaster. My DH just loops the strap around his leg and tucks it under the front of the ride car - we've never had a problem.
