Can anyone recommend a good backpack for the park or everyday use? I have decided not to carry my DS's diaper bag to disney. Any ideas would be great.
TIA
Allie

Well, last year I found a great backpack at Wal Mart. It is the across the body type strap, and it has a cell phone holder on the strap that sits right in the middle of your chest, so it was very easy to hear it ring even in the noisest parts of the parks. I also kept my Photopass card there, very easy to whip it out when needed. The backpack itself is huge, held a camcorder, sometimes my Digi camera, snacks, batteries, markers, water, and God only knows what else and it never got too heavy, thanks to the across the body strap design. and the best part? it was only $13. It was perfect and I'll be carrying it again in THREE WEEKS!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: you don't need to spend a fortune on designer packs, trust me!!

Do you have a picture of the backpack? That sounds great... I am looking for a backpack type bag to carry in the parks........... a trip to walmart may have to happen soon!

Hey guys, I used a smaller pack, but it too was the cross the shoulder style. It was by Heys Luggage and they had a ton of bright colours to choose from. It was about twenty dollars. It is smaller than a knapsack, but expandable! It had the cell phone holder that sat on your front. It has a "wet" pocket for wet things or wipes, which was fantastic. It had a zip up little compartment that had a mesh thingy. When you un-zip it you can put a large water bottle in there. Several compartments inside and expandable. I just loved the thing. It is by Heys Luggage.

Happy trip everyone!!

Our travel backpack is 12 yrs old, same brand that I had in college to lug chemistry books around. It has held up great from Alaska to Oktoberfest& the Alps to Northern MI to WDW.

It's not a huge one, just the regular size from the mid 80's. My 4th graders Lands End back back is much bigger.

Plus it gets a workout for swim lessons too!

The sling bag I bought to take to WDW is the Mini Sling from REI and I LOVE it. My DD is 21 months so we don't have quite as much stuff as you might have for a younger baby but still a few diapers, wipes, snacks, sunscreen and all the other stuff I need for a day at WDW I seem to have plenty of room. My regular diaper bag is a Eddie Bauer Mini and this is comperable in size. I'm not one to haul around more than the necessities. I also think this is a really well made bag for the price.
