Backpacks on rides??

Its been years since I've been to WDW, when we went before there were always 1 or 2 people who didn't go on the rides so they were able to hold on to our backpacks while the riders were on. My boyfriend and I are going in a few weeks and we will be taking a backpack with us, can we take this on to the rides with us? Also, does anyone know if we can at Universal Studios as well?

We have always been able to take our backpacks on the rides except for Rockin Roller Coaster. Other than that you should be good. Sorry I don't know anything about Universal as I haven't been in over 15 years and that was when I was in high school.

I've taken my backpack on every ride in Disney. Ive even taken it on rock n roller coaster and put my leg thru one of the straps and kept it on the floor. At universal they have lockers available for free for rides you can't take backpacks on

The lockers at Universal are sort of free. They are free for a certain amount of time, like 30 minutes. When we were at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the line for the Hogwarts ride was about an hour. The locking mechanism for the lockers involves the biometric finger scan thing. When your time is up, the locker will automatically unlock for somebody else to put their stuff in it. We were unable to unlock our locker when we were at Universal, and had to have help to do it. It was mass chaos, because a lot of other people were in the same situation as we were. All of the lockers were full, and the people were still in line, and the lockers were opening when the next person needed a locker. I am glad that our things were still in the locker when we finally got it open. Evidently, it had been reprogrammed with somebody else's biometrics.

If you pay money when you first put your stuff in the locker, it will not be reassigned while you are on the ride, which we did the next time.

When going on rides in Disney I take a vera Bradley small backpack and wrap the straps around my feet. They don't have a problem with you taking bags on. And as for the person that says rock n rollercoaster doesn't let you- I have always taken my bags with me. You can even put the strap. Though the seat belt!

Not sure about Universal but as long as its not a huge bag it should be fine!

At Disney the only ride that has lockers is Kali River Rapids but thats just so your stuff doesn't get wet. All other rides, except for Soaring have nowhere to store your stuff.

On RnRC your stuff will not fall out. Physics works!

At Universal I have heard no bags at all even small hip packs.
