backpacks for electric wheelchairs

For our Disney trip, I was thinking about purchasing some type of backpack or bag for my Permobil electric wheelchair. I was thinking a special bag could save my family from needing to carry some things.I know Permobil makes something, but I don't think I can use it because it looks like it hooks into the two slots on each side of what I think is usually the neckrest slot. I keep my neckrest in one of those slots due to scoliosis. Does anyone know of anything that might work?

Most of the advantage bags slip on over the back of the seat so people like my oldest dd that don't have push handles can use a bag. I would think it would work fine on a power chair too.

Call sportaid and ask them if the person that answers the phone doesn't know Jimbo will he is a quad and can answer any questions you have.

I also have a Permobil ( C500)- they do have the backpack that hooks onto carabiner clips on the back of the chair vs. hanging from the headrest. I also have a special headrest and can't use the clips as I have alot of other medical "stuff" on the back of my chair...besides, if something were on the back of my chair I'd not be able to reach it. I often use a sturdy tote bag and sit it on the footrest ( I have the solid footrest but have done this with the split footrest ). The key is to have a bag that has firm sides so it won't flop, fall off, and get stuck under the chair. ---Kathy

I got a bag from Dynamic living and cut the set of straps that would hold the bag onto the back "pusher"handles if I were using a manual wheelchair. I then had a friend drill two holes into the wooden frame of the back of the padded seat. I bought a set of large plastic clips and sewed the tab halves onto pieces of the bag's former holder straps and sewed the straps back onto the bag in a place where it would hold the bag in a convenient place (the straps were quite long). I also screwed the other piece of the former bag straps onto the back of the seat and threaded the other halves of the clips onto them. The bag then can be clipped onto the back of the seat so it can be removed. I tried mounting the bag under the arm rest but, although it's easier to reach, it makes the vehicle too wide to go through doors...

I don't know what a Permobil chair looks like. Ds has an adult Quick T, We are able to use a regular bag on both his power and push chairs. They have different push bars on them, but the straps of a regular backpack will strech over them. I then tighten the straps and it is very secure. If you haven't tried it, it may be worth a shot. A backpack does come in very handy.

I use a regular backpack on the back of my Jazzy 1103. Hook the straps over the chair and through to the back where it folds. To buckles are not in the way.
