Backpack Search

I bought this shoulder pack just before Xmas on amazon. Tried it in Feb (instead of my usual backpack) and it worked great! Holds smartphone in the (front) strap, and water bottle in the side mesh pocket. Also didn't have to constantly slip both arms in/out of the straps, as I did with the old backpack.

I've been using a $20 backpack from Wal Mart for years. They are on the camping section. Super durable and loads of pockets. I bought it for a school field trip and it's lasted for years!

After looking through multiple threads, I still couldn't find what I was looking for so here I am asking for help.

I've been doing Disney since I was little and love it. I've also always brought some king of bag with me on every visit.
This October will be my first solo trip (wish me luck) and I'm debating looking into a new backpack.
Last year I used my messenger bag (bad idea) and the previous year I used my smaller backpack I was gifted at work. Only problem with that backpack is that there isn't a side pocket for my water bottle. Now normally I wouldn't mind, but the backpack isn't very large so putting in my water bottle along with any snacks or trinkets I pick up along the way fills up fast.

Basically, I'd like to know what kind of backpacks you all have used over the years and your opinion on each.
Thanks ahead of time!
this is the one I use http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/magellan-outdoors-pinejack-hiking-backpack?repChildCatid=653954

I like that it has a west strap ( I have a bad back so this helps take the weight off my back.
it has a rain cover built in because you know it never rains in FL
it has two water pockets
the main compartment has 2 parts that can zip together or apart one is the normal back pack one and the other is at the bottom and goes in from the front ( kind of hard to explain but it makes things harder to lose at the bottom of the bag as there are2 compartments)

it is very light weight yet durable
not that pricey at $40
the back has a hard plastic pice built in I thought I would not like it but I love it it keeps the back of the back pack part off my beck enough to let air flow and my back is a lot less sweetie

I am looking for advice on a backpack as well. I have several but most have a lot of pockets. I am yhinking about one that I can use as a small carry on bag as well as a pack for the park.

Any ideas?

Also, can your water bottles have water in them when you enter the parks or do they have to be emptied? Thanks!
you can have water in our water bottles when you enter the park

Everyone is posting good bags, if you travel a lot maybe Osprey as well.

Your water bottles can be filled coming in. One of the big rules is simply no glass.

Osprey is the brand that I have. Light weight and like a clown car (you can fit a lot of stuff in it if needed)
One thing I always look for is a strap that connects the two shoulder straps together. This way the shoulder straps will NOT slip and slide off of your shoulders.... Very annoying.

Have fun on your trip!
