Backpack? Purse? What to bring?

Hi guys, update! I got a nice medium sized, padded, waterproof backpack. It's really comfy! I'm excited to use it in the park.

I used small crossbody 'bag' that is essentially a wallet with a bit extra space. Space inside for passes, credit card and cash which zipped up, something I need to have for peace of mind.

I used it every day we were at the Park and thanks to my diligence I have a lovely white tan line running from diagonally down my chest

DH carries the camera and water bottles, assorted odds and ends in a small backpack. He needs to carry that for his own peace of mind.

He is the keeper of the stuff, I am the keeper of all things Park ( fp, tickets, door keys, photopass etc )

I have a tan messenger/style bag that is amazingly roomy and would literally fit the kitchen sink if I fancied to take it along. The problem is, it's so big that I tend to overfill it and then it's SO HEAVY! It really is the best choice for me to bring but I don't know if I will have the self control to keep it light. Just a wallet, cell phone, sweatshirt and water bottle...I can do this, right?! ACK.
