Backpack Diaper Bag

DD is three, so we've moved away from the diaper bag, however this is what we use in the parks:
http://www.ebags.com/product/olympia/academy-mini-back-pack/87800?productid=1140465

Trust me, you'd be amazed at what it can hold.

It's a mini backpack, so it's not as big as a regular backpack.

In the large pouch, I have carried:
extra outfit (pants/shorts, shirt) for DD (placed in a ziplock bag)
diapers/wipes travel case (holding three diapers and a pack of wipes)
extra travel pack of wipes
colroing book
crayons
snacks

Next compartment holds:
extra wipes (if they aren't in the big compartment)
hand sanitizer
snacks
small books
sunscreen
band aids
Neosporin spray

The front zippered compartment holds (this compartment really is small):
a few snacks
pack of travel kleeex

The mesh side pocket has held:
bottle of water/sippy cup

I really love this bag, and the straps are long enough to carry on your back (although they are not padded), but I usually hang it over my stroller handles (don;t know how it would work on a Disney stroller, but there is a handle, and maybe if you brought along a caribener clip....)

We use to use a Skip Hop Diaper bag, when DD was smaller. I bought the bookbag for our trip back in May, and really love it. Now that DD is out of diapers, it usually contians the following in various compartments:
extra outfit
coloring book
small toy/books for entertainment when we are at restraunts
autograph book
Epcot passport
pressed panny book
M&M tube of pennies/quarters
sunscreen
first aid items (spray neosporin/band-aids)
feminine items (for Mom, just in case)
snacks
sippy
wipes
wipes
more wipes (I hate sticky hands)
hand sanitizer
and probably a lot more than I can remember

Inside each section are smaller area fro organization, and I am really amazed at what it can hold.

I just use a regular backpack, I have one of these for the diapers/wipes: http://www.skiphop.com/product/202000.html
Then I put everything else in the other pockets of the backpack. That way I don't necessarily have to take the whole bag into the bathroom with me, I can just grab the Skip Hop thing.

We LOVE our Baby Bjorn backback. We got it when our daughter was born, and she is now 7 years old! We had one issue about five years ago with the zipper. We emailed Baby Bjorn, mailed it to them, and they sent us a new one free of charge! :goodvibes We used this backpack daily with our son (now 5 years old) and still use it today for different purposes. We take it to the parks, and yesterday, I used it to carry my daughter's ice skates because we were in a place where I didn't want to carry her bigger skate bag! I cannot recommend it highly enough! :thumbsup2

.

WOW! Thank you so much for all of the recommendations. The first time we travel our ds will be 4mo. I really didn't want to carry a regular diaper bag so that's why I was thinking about getting a backpack. I am going to have to do some research now that you all have given me so many different suggestions. I really appreciate it!

I LOVE my Petunia Pickle Bottom backpack diaper bag! I know they are a little pricy, but they are worth EVERY penny!

After 4 kids I've had a TON of diaper bags over the years.

My prettiest was a Petunia Pickle Bottom...but that thing was heavy with the metal, etc! And didn't fit all that much IMO.

My most expensive...Kate Spade...hated that it didnt have compartments for stuff!

My complete waste of money...Columbia backpack. It was bulky and doesn't hold that much and fell apart. Got a new one...fell apart again. Only $50 but still.

My hands down favorite most functional....Lands End do it all diaper bag backpack! Now this thing is awesome! Plenty of compartments, super light, fits a ton, and cheaper than ALL the others...$40! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this backpack! II've hauled this sucker all over the place and it has held up so well. It's not currently listed on their site...but my best friend was able to order one by calling them.

I looked this one up and it looks like it would fit the bill. Unfortunately, I spoke with Lands End and they no longer sell it. It's been replaced by a weird looking convertible diaper backpack.

I picked up a OneStepAhead Urban Backpack. It's pretty awesome.

oh that's too bad. I must have gotten the last one they made then. I just bought it last June maybe. It was a clearance. It's my favorite.

Great deal on a Ju-Ju-Be PackaBe - $59.99!!!!!!

http://babysteals.com/

This site usually sells out quickly.

I actually tried to get one of the Purple Paisley's, had it in my cart, went to check out, put my cc in wrong, by the time I went back and corrected it my shopping cart expired and I lost it because they were sold out. I went on their FB to tell of my experience and find out if they offered the JJB's often or if it was rare and one of the girls that won offered to sell me hers because she was getting another color that she liked better.

I imagine Babysteals is great when you get in there quick and get what you want. Live and learn I guess.

UGH! That is frustrating!!!! I'm sorry it sold out while you were checking out. Keep checking the site and the other deal sites (zulily, mamabargains, babyhalfoff, etc). I've found that more often than not, they do have repeat sales, usually the item is available in a different color or pattern though.

I love my Ju Ju Packabe. It has great organization, I love that it can switch from backpack to shoulder bag, it wipes clean easily and it can be washed in the washing machine. Since you have until July, I would keep checking the deal sites previously mentioned. You can also try Totsy.com. Also, the Ju Ju Be website gives away a free bag to one Mom every month. I would try, becasue you never know! :goodvibes

If you don't mind me asking, what is the material like on these bags?
