backpack carryon?

Can a school sized backback be used as a carryon in an airplane? It will be my first time flying and I am wondering how big of a carryon bag I will be able to use. Thank you in advance.

Yes, it can. See your airline's website for exact size restrictions for carry on bags.

That's actually a perfect sized carryon. Even stuffed it will fit under the seat in front of you.

Agree with Anne. That's what we do.

My kids always take their current backpack for 3 reasons it fits under the seat,they are used to it with a whole lot more weight(when they take it to school) it closes completely for going thru the security belt and under the seat.

Planes would be a lot nicer to board and to ride if everyone took a carryon this size!

I now only use my LL BEAN basic bookpack as a carry-on. It always fits under the seat if needed, plus the second compartment is perfect to place the spare change of clothes and toiltries, in the rare occurrance that the airline loses luggage!
