It finally happened. I placed the school backpack on DS9 this morning and he quickly began to topple over backwards. :sad2: So, I think it's time for a rolling backpack but the question is, which one? Any of you Dis'ers out there have suggestions?

My main concern is size. It needs to be able to hold a large (and full) zippered binder, 2 3-subject spirals, a text book, lunch box and an occasional library book. I had a really hard time finding a traditional backpack that would fit the binder so I am concerned about buying anything that is not really big.

Don't even get me started on why 9y/o's need this much stuff! :sad2: TIA!

I would first check and make sure they are allowed. They aren't at our schools.

I agree too why so much books for a 9 year old. Fortunately my son is a big kid and can hold it. What adds a lot of weight is the full-zipper binders. Why does my son need this one?????

I'm sorry, I didn't answer your question. My son, last year never used the rolling kind much at all, he still wears it on his back. I bought my son a brand that I can only remember it begins with a N_____. It's a higher quality knd. He's a school now and this is his second year with the bookbag.

My 11 yr old has a rolling backpack from LLBean. They are very roomy and very sturdy. She has a lot of stuff as well, and she walks home from school, so I like the fact that she doesn't have to carry all that weight.

Thanks for the replies. Has anyone compared the size of an LLBean one with the LandsEnd one?
