Hi ive seen a couple of posts by Lurkyloo about the prop warehouse in Hollywood Studios to use as a reception area. I found some pics of this and it looks fab with the lighting and tables, a wee dancefloor and all the props around the place.

Has anyone had their reception there before and if so do you have pics and did you love it? Do you know if the lighting comes as standard, it looked a bit boring without it? Can you only use it at certain times for a reception as i thought people toured through it lol :confused3

It was just a thought as i think it looks very cool! Also i think if you had your reception there, you could maybe nip out and have a shot on the TOT or aerosmith? hehe

Thanks, Eve

It's called the "Prop Shop"
I'm sure someone else has more info about this than me. I was considering this location...so I have a few links to share with you:

These are old links, but have some have pictures and info about the place.

This is not where the backlot tour is (anymore?), when we went on our site visit I was told that it could be used at any time during the day because there is a backstage entrance.

The best way to search on here is to type into google site:disboards.com and then what it is you want to search for.

Hope this helps you! I wish there were more MGM weddings! :goodvibes

Not a wedding but I have been in the prop shop for another catered party event type thing. It's a really fun location with a lot of cool stuff but it's not on the large side. Once you've got about 6 tables and the buffet lines in there you wouldn't have any room for a dance floor.

I think it would be best suited for a simple reception where the focus is just food and mingling and walking around looking at all of the cool stuff.

Thanks for all the info everyone, its appreciated! I'm wondering, if you had an escape wedding and had it at Epcot in Canada, ive heard the bus is included with the package. Do you need a bus to take everyone to the prop shop or is this a location where people can make their own way there?

If you need a bus, do you get the epcot bus for a certain period with the escape wedding and so this could take everyone to Hollywood Studios for a breakfast/brunch type reception in the prop shop?

Hopefully theres someone in the know who can answer my many questions! Thanks, Eve
