Backing up iPhone photos without a laptop

If you use the Photo Stream feature, the 1,000 photo limit is per hour. You can upload 10,000 photos to Photo Stream per day, and 25,000 per month. It's a simple feature you can just turn on or off, I use it and it's so great! I love it so much that even if they started charging to use it, I would pay. It's great having my photos automatically back up without me having to do anything, and they are available to me on all of my devices.

Thanks for posting this. I just started using the Photo Stream feature last week after reading this thread. Based on the info about the upload limits, I think this is what I'll do on our WDW trip in a couple of weeks. Now if only I could get my iPhone battery to last!

That's the trick isn't it!! I've found that one way to help my battery last longer is to completely quit apps when I'm done using them. It keeps them from running in the background and sucking up battery. But when you are using your iphone for all of your photos, it's probably a good idea to bring a solar charger or a battery charger of some sort. Quitting the apps doesn't help all that much, just a little!

I bought a Mophie iPhone case, so hopefully that will give me enough power for the park each day. And I plan on maximizing my use of PhotoPass photographers!

On another board, I suggested the Mophie Juice Pack Powerstation. You plug it into the electrical outlet to charge it. You can then use it to completely charge an iPhone 3 times before you have to plug the Juice Pack into an electrical outlet again. This one isn't a case that goes around your iPhone. It's a portable battery about the size of a cell phone.

Thanks for the suggestion, Best Aunt!

Be careful uploading pictures froma camera or phone to the internet. Some resolution might be lost for example 4 megapixel pictures might end up as 2 megapixel.

I think I made a mistake. I'm pretty confused, honestly, but I just reached 1,000 photos in my photo stream, and it stops there. It won't save more than 1,000. I honestly don't understand the page I found and linked to here, because it doesn't seem to apply. Sorry for the erroneous information, I hope you see this before your trip! If you make sure your photo stream is empty and you don't take more than 1,000 photos, you should be ok, but once you reach 1,000 it starts deleting the earliest photos you took to make room for the latest photos. It also seems like photos won't upload to photo stream unless you are connected to WIFI. I could swear I've seen photos upload when I wasn't connected to WIFI before, but that's what the internet tells me. I'm not sure what to believe anymore! Again, sorry for the mess-up. :(
