Background Sounds and Hidden Messages

Good article Gary. I'm going to MK tomorrow and will be sure to listen for those...one additional sound that I've heard at MK: the suits of armor in BOG "whisper"...

Hi Peach . . . one I didn't include . . . I'm not sure it still works . . .

Behind Cinderella Castle, in the Tinker Bell's Treasures store, Tinker Bell used to "fly".

There were tiny lights in the wall (in several areas) that would flash in a sequence as a flourish of music played to mark her "flight".

I haven't witnessed it in years so I'm not sure it still works.

If you have time tomorrow maybe you could ask a cast member in the store.

There used to be a ritual they went through where they had to wake Tink up . . . it was cute!

Thanks,

Gary

1) They stopped this about three years ago.
2) Kids and adults were physically running to the store to be the one to "awaken" Tink.
3) Several times, kids would fall down, or be pushed down, in the rush of others (THINK: Stampede).

I got to hear two of the three at MK...the phone (you should have seen the looks I got when I started laughing at the comedy on the phone), and I heard Tom Morrow (but I knew about that one already). Couldn't hear the singing in the side street shop because the Dapper Dans were doing a show nearby on Main Street. They were awesome and I stayed to listen to them.

Bummer about Tink....that would have been fun but I don't want anybody run over to get to it!

A lot of these were pointed out to us when we did the KTTK tour. Learned a lot on that tour. I loved it.

Dh & I must have gone in 'Tink's' store before it became a 'crush' as we had heard about it, but not seen it.
We asked a CM about it and she said sure, come wake her up!! There was a family in there with a little girl and I asked her to do it. She did, and I videoed it - was so cute. Made our day to see the little girl so excited and speechless!!

It was a cute store and really upset me when they decided that 'money' was more important and turned that store into a little 'boutique' for BBB (photos, princess clothing, etc.) 'More' $$$'s is 'all' for Disney these days - not like it was for several years when we went with our children.

We forgot about Tink when we were there, but we did walk around Tomorrowland looking for the talking trash can. Never did find it.

I think I'll put a list of these together as a "scavenger hunt" for this time.

The talking trash can was named "Push" . . . but I think he was retired. Same reason that Tinker Bell was; swarming kids.

There was also a small potted tree that roamed around Animal Kingdom talking to guests, but he's gone too.

I miss some of that magic!

We ( DH, myself, DS and his GF) were at AK. DS and GF were both 6ft tall blonde blue eyed cuties. The tree came around and told GF she was a tall drink of water. Then he told me good job on making 2 great looking kids. We all cracked up.
