back yard bbq or hoop dee doo?

hello,

i'm thinking of planning a night for my dd9 and myself to do a dinner show. which of these 2 do you recommend for us? we will be going to AK the day we'll be doing these so maybe that will make a difference on the decision. i really don't know where either of them are right now. any info is appreciated!

Well, in the FWIW department, I would have suggested Hoop Dee Doo anyway. It is a little corny, but so are we , so we love it. As a child, we went to HDDR every trip with my parents. DD and kids went with me and loved it too. We left Ak and headed over to the HDDR for 2007 T-Day dinner. Plan to do it again this trip! Have fun Pixie!

We've never done HoopDeDo, but LOVED the BBQ. DS(10) and DS(5) are looking forward to our trip in 2010 primarily for that reason !

Both are at the FW Campground, so location won't really be a deciding factor.

We love both. With a nine year old girl, I would say the HDDR.

The BYBBQ has a lot of younger kids dancing around with the characters, with BBQ type of food, hot dogs, burgers, corn, potato salad, etc. Plus it's located in an outdoor pavillion. The HDDR has fried chicken, ribs, beans, corn.
The entertainement is cute & corny. It's located indoors.

My reasoning for this is the HDDR is inside, A/C, no bugs, no heat. We've done the HDDR over 10 times and it's still good, great food, corny but great show and all the beer and sangria you can drink. They are both at Fort Wilderness, about 100 yards apart. I've checked into MBYBC but we're not into characters and we hear there are a few there and alot of youngsters, HDDR gets some children but we always go to the last show, more adults then, for our point of view and as stated in the begining, its inside.
