Back up glasses?

Bug spray that contains Deet will ruin lenses. Never get insect repellent on lenses.

I don't use bug spray very often (never at Disney) and when I do I certainly don't spray it directly on my face.
As for sunscreen I also never use spray on in generally but would NEVER on my face at least. I also take my glasses off when rubbing sunscreen on my face.

I go NOWHERE without backup regular glasses (I save the old prescription pair) and sunglasses (I use clip-ons because I hate carrying two pairs of glasses) in the car or in the suitcase when traveling.

Wouldn't dream of not doing.

I bring my previous pair of glasses with me on vacation. Just in case something happens to my glasses. A few years ago my Mom left her prescription sunglasses on a ride (and somehow it was my fault?). We were lucky she had her back up ones until we could get hers back a day or 2 later at the TTC lost and found.
Same. When I get a new pair, I put the old pair in my travel toiletry bag. Then I have them when I go anywhere in case I lose or break them. My husband lost his in the Gulf of Mexico a couple years ago and didn't have a spare pair. It was really problematic since we were staying longer and he had to drive home from the airport.

I have never taken a back up pair with me on vacation. DD has glasses but only needs for school and most likely wouldn't even bring her glasses on vacation. I have glasses but I can see without them for the most part. I do need them to drive though. I have prescription sunglasses so if I needed to I can use those.

I do not put bug spray or sunscreen on while my glasses are on. I don't use spray sunscreen as I have read that they do not cover well and do not want to take the chance of getting burnt. For the bug spray I spray on my hands and then rub on my face. I wash my hands after.

I have also found that the glasses cleaning cloth from Norwax is the best at getting grease (finger prints and such) and dirt off. I don't have to use any cleaners. It is just the cloth.

Hi folks. Hoping our August vaca will still happen *fingers crossed*
Three out of five family members need glasses. I am terrified of having a glasses break situation.
Do you bring an old pair just in case?
Anyone have experience with zenni Wondering if I should buy a couple cheapies for vaca and summer (bug spray, sunscreen) in general.
What's your plan here?
I wouldn’t bother with Zenni.com. Just bring the older pair as a backup. I have prescription sunglasses and regular eyeglasses as well as contact lenses. That’s enough for me.

glasses wearer here. Never brought a backup pair. However, my kiddo is looking like he’s going to be needing glasses and if I were traveling with him, I most likely would bring a backup for him. I’ve used zen I for myself and it was a positive, quick and easy process. Glasses came within a week for a reasonable price for what I got. Personally if you’re wearing glasses during waking hours, it’s not a bad investment. If it’s only for a few hours a day I’d say skip.

I always bring my contacts, backup contacts, glasses, and backup glasses (old pair) whenever I travel. I have never broken my glasses ever before, but I would be so useless and vulnerable without some sort of vision correction that I do all I can to prevent that sort of situation. I ordered my current glasses from Zenni because of COVID restrictions and trying to reduce exposure, and they are OK, but I can definitely tell the difference between them and the glasses I have always ordered from the optician. I likely would not go with Zenni again.

Always, always, always being a back up pair.

It wasn’t on vacation, but one time my husband had a lens pop out in a museum. Thankfully we found the screw and we were able to fix it. My backup plan was to get a paper clip (a trick my dad showed me). But the point is you never know what will happen.

I wear readers, so I have a good pair, and then I have a few pairs for travel... my favorites are a fold-able ones... they got broke last year, so I am in search of another pair.

DH wears contacts ( daily's) , and he then brings along his good pair glasses and then the last pair for in the car, and couple pair of readers...

Plus all the sunglasses... which neither one of us can live without...

I have a kit to fix glasses in our travel gear... we have used it a few times.

I have worn glasses since age two. A spare pair is a must for me. I seriously could not function without glasses. I personally never take my glasses off for any ride and have never had an issue. I have no idea what Zenni is so I can not respond. Yes, I take bug spray wipes and sunscreen. Go to pinterest and put Disney packing list in search bar. You will find many ideas on packing lists. I have retyped and made a vacation packing list that pertains to us and we use to double check things before we go. (Example: We don't need anything that pertains to babies as we don't have a baby so baby items not on our personal lists. However, I take extra band belts. I have seen parents struggling with littles having Magic Bands not stay on. I give them a band belt. I also take five dollars Starbucks gift cards for military folks we may encounter when we travel. I tuck them inside a thank you note. So these are things on my list that may not be on someone else's list that I do not want to forget.)

I pack my regular glasses and my prescription sunglasses, so I kind of already have a backup. My eyesight is not so bad that I couldn't get along without them, though. The same with DD, so we don't even take hers. She has astigmatism, so she notices it most when reading and she doesn't do much of that on vacation. LOL!

I always pack an old pair of glasses. I haven't broken a pair since I was about 6 years old, but that doesn't mean it can't happen. I'm pretty much useless without glasses, and I wouldn't want to spend my whole trip with a headache because everything's blurry. I don't see any good reason NOT to bring a back-up pair. How much room do they take up in a suitcase?

I actually bring a large zip-lock bag with extra pairs for all of us, just in case--- normally 2 extra each--- DS10 has a habit of leaving his at just about every place that we enter--- rides, restaurants, bathrooms, etc !!!
