Back Up Dilemma

So...I am going to the World in 27 days
This will be my first trip with my DSLR. I am debating which will be my best method for backing up pics each night while I am down there.

Do you have a preference between purchasing a portable external hard drive or a DVD burner? What are the pro's and con's of each?

Are there certain brands that you recommend?

Any hard drive can fail easier than a DVD breaking.

I also like burning DVDs because I can burn two each night. They go home in different bags (one carry-on, one checked). If I planned on taking a gazillion pictures, I'd consider bringing multiple drives and backing up onto them.

I got an epson 3000 and LOVE IT!

I take my laptop and burn the dvd's on that.
