It was another Rick Steves day!

. We made the trek down to Edmonds today for "art and history 101" and "making French crepes". Yes, we got to taste them! And, we got to try and make them! I have pics of Sean and Ashleigh going up to give it a go. We had one of the regular tour guides hosting the class, but the chef was from a little bistro down the street. He'd moved here from France several years ago and set up shop! Had he not been open for lunch on Saturdays we'd have gone straight there for lunch! This was actually the second class we attended, and it was held in the same back room of the travel store we'd gone to for the last class. The bonus was that this time, the class only had about 16 attendees. That was kind of a surprise, but the weather was also pretty good, so maybe people took the opportunity to be outside?
Anyway, we got to have a crepe filled with Beef Bourgione and then a crepe Suzette! Yummy! And, since there were leftover crepes since the class was so small (he'd pre-prepared some), we got to take some home! Guess who's having a nutella crepe with strawberries for breakfast? That's right! Mmmmmmmmm!
The first class was held at the Edmonds theater, literally just around the corner. The guy who lectured was the friend that went with Steve on that first backpacking trip he did after high school. GREAT lecturer. Ashleigh's interest was held the entire time. He started with Stonehenge and went thru history showcasing how art developed stylistically thru time.
Had we needed anything, they had Italy on sale 20% off and has a $10 off coupon. Sadly, nothing on our list to buy there. We had other errands to run while we were that far south. And besides, I just spent more money last night on another interim payment toward the cruise as the Disney Visa bonus points stops any minute now. Wanted to get just a bit more in......
We went by REI on our quest. Not having been to this particular store for a while (last time was in Bellingham, north instead of south), and I wanted to check out the camera bags. Still, same craptastic selection. I commented on this to an employee, and he agreed and added that there are photographers on staff that also dislike what's carried. I think I'm going to email REI and tell them why it's a bad choice for their store. Might not do any good, but who knows. I'd prefer to shop there if I can, so I can work on that annual dividend!
Ashleigh brought along her pacsafe bag today as a catchall for all her stuff. She did ok with it. Poor kid was a bit off today.. Came down with another cold
