Has anyone else heard the rumour that Universal are planning a new BTTF Ride? Rumours are suggesting that there will be a major BTTF event in the year 2015 with a new and improved ride to follow!

I really hope this is true, so please show your support over on Telltales forums for the official game as the developers there have close ties with Universal.

To my knowledge, there is nothing planned at this time. A different site started an April Fool's Day joke this year stating that, which may be what you're hearing now.
That being said, I wish BTTF would come back in some way, not counting the photo op now. I miss that ride.

That was truly my favorite ride of all time. To ride and to work at. BTTF =

How Twister keeps going and BTTF got the sack is history's greatest outrage.

I'm in that minority that actually loves "Twister". Closet thing to actually being in a tornado without that whole "dying" thing. It'll be a sad day for me when and if it closes. But not as sad as when BTTF closed.

My DW and I went to Twister, and we're there, ok, good, done with the pre-show, ready to go in, wait, what? That was the show?

Hruh?

That sounds like just a rumor, but I'd love it if that were true. They're my favorite movies and I loved that ride! I was a little bummed that they didn't have anything around for the 25th Anniversary of the first movie last year.

If there really is some sort of 2015 BTTF makeover, it must involve hoverboards! :thumbsup2

Same sentiments here!

Twister is OK but BTTF was painful to ride...no two ways about it. If you are over 6 foot tall and get stuck in the back row, it was a very painful ride...I don't miss it. I wouldn't be upset if Twister was replaced but I don't think replacing BTTF with The Simpsons was a bad move.

Alot of pain came from the tight quarters you were crammed into for me. Simpsons vehicles feel a little more roomier in my opinion. And with such tight spaces it made for an awkward ride with smelly strangers in hot Florida summers.

If they did do a Back to the Future ride again, I hope it won't be based on a remake. (I keep hearing about a BTTF movie remake:mad:)

Are you telling me that you actually work with the people who decided it would be a good idea to remove their most iconic ride rather than just upgrading it, whilst leaving Twister, Men In Black, and Earthquake still in place?! Give them a slap for me will you please...

Definately. Imagine if it was a similar type of ride to the original, but that you all had your own hoverboard for a section of the ride, then moved to a Delorean to meet up with your family/friends and go for another insane adventure through time? Wow.... I think i'd actually just begin to live there.

Do you know which site this was by any chance? Got a link? This was a genuine rumour that I had heard somewhere. It makes perfect sense to build a new one for 2015.

Can't post the link from my phone, but I read it on orlando united's forum. If I can get to an actual computer tonight and not just an iPhone I'll post the link where I saw the April fool's day joke. Not saying there isn't anything to what you've heard though. Just that I read about that link in April.

Men In Black? Sorry, I disagree there. MIB is still awesome (needs a little love though) and with MIB3 being released soon, this ride isn't going anywhere.

Ok guys, Back to the Future is my favourite film of all time. I think we should leave the ride.. in the past. I wasn't even born when the first film was released, and some people my age haven't even heard of the film, let alone seen it (my boyfriend included :scared1:). The film doesn't have the pulling power anymore. Yes, people over a certain age LOVE this film but it doesn't have a large enough interest. Universal's marketing has always been out keeping it fresh, and modern. Why would they revive an 80's movie trilogy? I know Disney have done it with older trilogies, with Star Tours, but the following that Star Wars has is no where near comparable to Back to the Future's.

All that aside, I would be in heaven if they did a new ride. In fact, I can't wait to head over to Japan (Or is it Singapore?) one day and hopefully re-visit the Institute. A lot of the time, these rumors are posted by hopefuls. Or I've seen some posts that claim the Doc has told them at the parks. Come on guys, what would a costumed character know?! He's just trying to stay in character and be hopeful.

All that said, I am truly baffled why BTTF went before Twister. However, Universal execs must've had their reasons for removing BTTF first.

Back to the Future was my FAVORITE ride at any of the parks in Orlando. I would love for them to bring it back - in the old form or a new version!

:cool1::thumbsup2

Well, just goes to show how crazy people are about BTTF. Nike have seen the potential at least, as well as generating a lot of cash for a great cause. I can just imagine them making a new ride in 2015 and selling Mags with power laces. They would be rolling in cash, it would quite possibly be the most exciting thing ever to see this back in style again.

I suggest all emailing them, I've had quite a positive response recently compared to just last year or so when I emailed them about a possible remake. We now know Lloydwould love to get involved and play his role of Doc even more and I dare say To would be up for it. There's even more potential for raising funds for Fox with another ride.
