back to resort before Dinner?

So we are 1 month out now, and i'm reviewing our ADR's. For example on Day 1 we have a 5:50 at Chef Mickey after the day at MK. Now I'm wondering, do you usually go right from the park to dinner or go back to resort to shower and change? We are in POFQ and would almost have to leave MK at 3:30 if we do that. If you go right to dinner, what time would you leave MK for Chef Mickey? We planned our park days around our ADR's, but now I'm wondering if we know what we're doing?

If you're at the monorail station 15 minutes ahead of your ADR you would be fine. It's the first stop on the resort line. You could also walk to the Contemporary.

You're right about leaving a lot of time to go back to the resort. I would avoid it. I would guess that most folks head straight there after the parks.

If you planning on staying at MK that late (3:30) I would just stay at MK then go to Chef Mickey.

We always go back to our hotel around 1:00 to relax and swim and use the hot tub then get ready to go back out to dinner and maybe tour some more.

Every family is different though. So, if you are planning on staying through the afternoon I wouldn't hurry back to the hotel to shower and change if I were you. I would just enjoy MK and then go to Chef Mickeys.

I think you are fine to go to Chef Mickey's in park attire.
We often go back to our resort for a swim and rest in the afternoon. Then we freshen up for dinner and the evening out.
If I am going to a Signature Restaurant, I always go back and change to something dressier than park clothes.
So for us, it is a mixture, depending on our destination for the evening

We typically don't go back to the hotel to change before an ADR. You would be perfectly fine going to Chef Mickey in park clothes. As for transportation time... if you were going to walk from MK to Contemporary I would leave MK at 5:25 ( I always like to get to the ADR a couple of minutes early) or if you want to take the monerail from MK to Contemporary I would leave MK at 5:30.

We return to our resort everyday by 1pm to swim & hang by the pool. Then we shower around 4-5pm & head off to our ADR (I always make ours for around 7pm).

If it's a winter trip, and not warm enough to swim, we still return to our resort every afternoon to just hang around the resort for "resort time".

We only go back to the hotel to change our clothes for a signature restaurant. Otherwise, we go to the restaurant directly from the parks.

I think for us it usually depends on where we are going to eat. We also always rent a car instead of relying on the buses. I think for the most part, we didn't go back to the room before dinner.

Unless its an in park Breakfast our Lunch ADR we like to go back and change.

Not everyone does and I have seen people take a change of clothes when going to a signature dinning place. We had a family check in for Cali Grill and the mother and father took the kids to get changed out of their park clothes.

We do this.
We also change for O'hana, too. Not signature, but it just feels a bit more upscale to me.
