We are home from our FABULOUS Spring Break trip to WDW - stayed at OKW for 6 nights and had a blast. Did some old favorites (Chef Mickey's, It's a Small World) and tried some new things, too (Whispering Canyon, Expedition Everest, and - my first time on RNR!!!). It was pretty crowded - more so than our Spring Break trip last year - but it was doable. Any questions? I'd be happy to answer what I can! :sunny:

I know this sounds crazy...but I lived in League City..or the LC as some call it now..for 18 years! How nice to see someone from a familiar place! Family moved to Baton Rouge, LA about 2 years ago. Its so nice to hear that you enjoyed your vacation...we just returned from ours last week!

We are going to OKW the in early May.

This will be our first time home. Where do you recommend we request to stay at OKW, which buildings.

We'll want to use the pool and hot tub and we want to try to be in a convenient area.

Looking at the maps, building 11/12 look good. Also 62 and 16. Is building 23 area too far a walk from the main pool?

Thank you.

Sorry for the slow reply - it's hard getting back to reality after a week in the World!

All of those buildings would be good choices, LoveMickey - we were actually saying on our trip that Building 62 would be ideal. Even Building 23 is not a far walk to the pool area. You'll be happy with whatever you choose!

We were in Building 37 in the Old Turtle Pond area. We had a beautiful view of the golf course and a short walk to the bus stop - we really liked it. The resort is so beautiful! We want to try the other DVC resorts but we love OKW so much that we have stayed there twice now. We're going to try for VWL next time......made our first visit to the Lodge during this trip and we were in awe! It's gorgeous!

Any other questions?

Texas is so huge I have no idea where League City is-near Houston? Dallas?

Anyways, can you please tell us about any encounters with Olivia's, Goods to Go, or Gurgling Suitcase? We're going to OKW in May, and as you can tell, I love to know about food and drink!

TXmommy, What dates where you there? We were at Old Key west March 11-17th. We stayed in both the Turtle Pond section ( in three studios) and the South Point area in a grand villa. What a great Resort. I am dreaming of going back already!

Glad to hear you had a blast.

Hi Simba's Mom! We are about half-way between Houston and Galveston - right on Galveston Bay. Texas IS huge, and I think most of the state was at WDW last week! ;)

We really liked Olivia's! Our first stay at OKW we didn't have occasion to eat there, but this trip we ate there twice in one day (lunch AND dinner!). Very good food and a neat atmosphere. We did buy drinks at the Gurgling Suitcase a couple of times - it's just a small bar area and we drank them outside by the marina/pool area. We didn't try Good's this time. I'm going to put a post on the Dining Board about the places we ate so check it out - maybe we tried something you are interested in!

Oregon - we checked in on March 12 and checked out on March 19, so we were there at the same time! We were in 3722 and loved it. We just love OKW!
