I have a 7:05 dinner reservation at Ohana. We would like to watch the fireworks from inside MK due to the projections. Currently the fireworks are set for 9:00pm in October. Will we have enough time to get back to MK and get a spot or should I keep trying for an earlier reservation?

Keep trying. Ohana often runs late, so I wouldn't be surprised if you aren't seated until 7:30. Dinner there takes about an hour. Then you've got to catch the monorail back to MK, get admitted to MK, etc. Very, very tight timing, & perfectly possible that you'd arrive right when the fireworks ended. :(

An earlier reservation would be safer but it might be hard to get. Try arriving at least 20 minutes early. We have had some luck being seated on time when we arrive early but it really is just the luck of the draw. You really don't want to be rushed as you can spoil your meal. I've had that experience trying to catch a fireworks after a meal.

This was my last experience at 'Ohana on Monday December 12th 2016:
We had a 6:50pm reservation, checked in 5 minutes early at 6:45pm, and were sat at 7:15pm.
The meal itself took an hour and a half. We left 'Ohana at about 8:45pm.
That's just about a 2 hour experience.

I would either check for an earlier time, or perhaps a different day. If fireworks are your priority you may want to eat in the park that night and scope out a good viewing spot after dinner. We have learned after a couple of 'Ohana dinners to never try to plan on doing anything afterwards that requires a time limit! Besides, you definitely do not want to rush! An 'Ohana meal is best enjoyed at a leisurely pace!

I agree after giving it some thought. I set up my touring plan res finders for a super early dinner and a dinner another day hopefully one will pan out.

I am glad you are trying for another ADR. The one you have will probably be frustrating, you will be rushing a very expensive. Meal and still may miss the fireworks.

Probably the right decision. In my experience, the meal itself at 'Ohana tends to go pretty quickly. The food comes out fast, and you have some control over the pace of your dinner. But the problem is the restaurant almost always runs late, which means it could take a while for you to be seated. I'd rather not stress, especially if seeing the fireworks is important to you.

I have never gotten out of Ohana in under 2 hours, and as much as 3.

If you can't get an earlier ADR, definitely show up 15 minutes ahead of time and make a plan to watch HEA from the TTC.
