Hi all,

We are looking at sailing back to back cruises in Feb 2016 (4 night + 3 night out of Port Canaveral).

Questions:
1. Assuming we get the same cabin both cruises, do you have to pack up your belongings or can they stay on board during the shift from one cruise to another?
2. What is the debarkment and reboarding process? I believe I have read that you have to leave the ship to get new cards, etc. but it is a rather quick process (one hour or so).

Any other thoughts/experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

If you get the same stateroom you do not have to pack up at the end of cruise one, we didn't.

We did the Fantasy East and West seven nights back to back.

We spoke to our stateroom host who knew and did the deep clean on the Friday in Castaway.

You pay tips at end of cruise one and they ask if you want the same dinner team and rotation or swap.

We had a letter to meet at guest services at 9 am.

We left the ship and followed disembarkation to border control.

Then up the stairs back into the cruise terminal.

There was a delay whilst the computer was swapped to the next cruise.

We checked in and went on at 10.15 am.

Nearly everything was closed, ie pools closed.

Cove cafe, guest services laundry were open, we could access our room.

We just did a back-to-back on the Magic and it's just as DISNEY FANTASY described. On the Magic, they kept Cove Cafe open for coffee throughout the day and Keys open to relax and get some sandwiches. We actually didn't take advantage of the early morning disembark, re-embark process. We got off the ship and pretended it was a port day and explored an area north of Copenhagen. We ended up back at the port around 3 pm, which was great as by then the terminal was empty and we quickly checked in and walked right on.

You will love doing a b2b....
We have done 5 b2b so far, and booked for next year on a b2b

Enjoy.....

We do!

Wow- 5 back to backs! I have to saying with airfare that keeps going up & up, doing back to backs is starting to seem more cost effective for us rather than doing 2 separate trips during the year. Do you do week longs? I am just worried it would get too long for 14 nights....Those 5 nighters are looking better and better this coming winter for a back to back :)

Anyway, yes if you get the same room it is so much easier. We did not have the same room when we did it and it wasn't terrible, we packed up but kept all of our luggage and we just brought it to our new room before we left to check out in the morning. Our new room person said to just leave it in the hallway and she put them in our room after it was cleaned. After we checked back in (which took about an hour I would say, maybe an hour and a half) , she already had our new room done with luggage inside :) It just would have been more convenient to not have to pack up but oh well, it was nice having an empty ship for the morning. Have fun!

Oh good, glad to know it was easy. We are doing b2b out of Copenhagen next year and I was wondering what the process was! Super happy to hear that there will be time for exploring on that port day!

You can choose to either reboard before the new cruisers or leave the terminal, explore port and reboard when boarding has started for new cruisers.
When you choose to reboard asap your stateroom will be available, but you are asked to either stay in or stay in the public areas from the moment embarking starts (around 11.30) till 1.30, when staterooms are ready. They don't want you in the hallways, while new cruisers are not allowed yet.
Have two great cruises!

You got it....Airfare is crazy....and most of the b2b's we do are far from home, West coast, (couple of times) and EBTA....it is very nice....
Our one time we did a b2b on the Fantasy, (for the 2nd cruise) we were asked if we would like an upgrade, so we decided to do it....the CM's were awesome, helping us with our stuff moving from one cabin to another...
They told us not to pack anything on hangers....just put the clothes on the bed

After we rechecked in, we were escorted to our cabin, and everything we already there....

It was a great trip, with pixie dust....

we did a B2B back in April. dates and timing worked out for us to do it that way. It was a lot of fun . Kids had a blast. I would def do it again. We got off about 9 walked through customs with basically nothing but our phones , passports and camera. The only Thing I was surprised about was there was no drinks or anything in the lounge they kept us in. Had I Known I would have brought water bottles (we had) off the ship or something for my little one. we were back on by 10:45 (in Orlando)

We have done quite a few b2b...more time at Castaway Cay == fun! Last year we did a surprise b2b2b (3/4/3) on the Magic. We had planned on doing b2b, and on the 2nd day of the first cruise I realized that 7 days wasn't going to be enough ;) So, I went down the future cruises desk and asked if they had room for the following 3d. They did, and we would only have to move 3 doors down, so I booked it. The kids were used to the drill of going back up the escalator, but they didn't know about the last minute add on, so when we turned to go back up they started cheering!

We are leaving next week on b2b 5 days on the Dream, both are double dips, so we will have 4 days at Castaway Cay in 10 days on board. Cannot wait!

As others have said, the process (at least at Port Canaveral) is simple and it doesn't feel like you are wasting too much time. Enjoy!
