back to airport?

For a variety of reasons, we may be the only Disney travelers left in the world who don't use DME.....
But, what is the best option for a one way ride to the airport from the hotel? looking for cheap, easy way to get there when we need to. Is it Mears? or just cala taxi? We have 4 people to get there- TIA!

Since DME started, I don't think Mears services the WDW resorts anymore; I could be wrong. You can call a taxi or reserve a car service. Also, DME can be a one-way service, so you would be eligible to take the free ride back to the airport.

You can use ME to go back to the airport even if you didn't use it to get to the hotel. My DH had to go back earlier than us and he used the rental car cause his flight was at 7 am and he didn't have to leave 3 hrs early and went without luggage. But the rest of us used ME the next day and it was very easy. WE did not use it to get to Disney.

Cheap and Easy are mutually exclusive in this setting.

Figure about $45 to $50 for either a Taxi or Town car. Personally I would either use ME or a car service becuase if you get stuck in traffic with a town car the fee is fixed, with a taxi the meter is running!

Also, if you are hesitating to use ME due to the departure time remember that MCO has some times when the mess is infamous. I was in there yesterday and secuirty was great, but the line to check in at Midwest was HUGE for some reason. (DL's line was non-existent)

A taxi would be the cheapest way for 4 people to get there if you don't want to use ME. It only cost us $40 in a taxi from the GF. That was a couple of years ago, so may be more now, but still cheaper than Mears.

We only use DME on return to the airport.

We used to use a towncar, but since DME is free - we can spend more $$ at Disney - hmmmm Guess Disney knew what they were doing after all.

We do one way rental from airport to resort - to make a grocery stop. You could always rent a car on the return.
