Back from a awesome trip…spent 5 nights at the DLH…again loved it…the walk back to the hotel at night was fun…love DTD sights and sounds…monorail was up and running…monorail red is beautiful and the kids were able to ride up front twice.

The one nice perk, staying onsite…the entrance at DGC…the lines to TSMM are looonnng…and in the sun most of the time…Thursday (8/14) morning we made PS at Storytellers for 8:30 am…finished breakfast and was in line before 9:30 am…the line was about 15/20 in front of us…bags checked and through the gates into the TSMM line…(make sure to get into this line) around 9:45/50 am they will walk this line over to the ride and it is a walk on…THE RIDE IS COOL…WE LOVED IT…
Also they will and do turn people away from this entrance if you do not have a hotel key…we saw so many disappointed families turned away and told they had to enter through the main gate (used this entrance early twice).
The early eater at Ariel’s could not get in line for TSMM they are held back until the park opened…

We did one MM (on Tuesday 8/12) and were able to do every ride in FanastyLand, some twice or more…almost all ride were walk on…very little wait time except Nemo!…After riding Pinocchio we got dreamed fastpasses…WooHoo! We were on Pinocchio around 8:15 am and when we got off there was the dreamteam…one observation about the dreamteam…you had to be getting off the ride to get the fastpass…you could not just walk up to them and ask for the pass…by 8:30 they were gone.

Wednesday (8/13) we did the priority seating for Fantasmic…our paper confirmation told us to arrive at 7:00 pm for check in…the podium people said it is 8:00 pm check-in (and right at 8:00 they started check-in)…ah! Disney…got front row center…so worth it to us.

We had a wonderful trip…did everything we’d hope to do…we went to the parks early…collected FP…were back to our rooms around 1:00 pm rested and swam…back to the parks in the evenings used the FP collected…And now we are counting down to the next Disney trip…JC

PS...Did not see or hear of the Disney Protest until we got home last night...WOW!

Glad you had a great trip!! Congrats on getting dreamed:cloud9:
Thanks for the tips on TSMM. Cant wait for my turn.

Did you see anything of the strikers? We arrive at DLH on Wednesday. This is the second vacation we've taken in a few months where we are going to be in the middle of strike. :scared1: We're just lucky that way . . .

We were there also. We had so much fun, it did not seem too crowded. On Friday it didn't seem as warm.

Sounds like it was a fantastic trip. I'm still hoping to get "dreamed" one day!

Congrats on the dream! I am glad you had a great trip. We will be there in 3 weeks which seems like a long time from now, but I am hoping the days go quickl!

I'm assuming that most of the "dreaming" takes place in the morning so that people have the day to enjoy their fastpasses or prizes... but has anyone heard of getting dreamed in the afternoon or evening hours? We're going next week, but won't be getting there until about 11:00, so I'm just wondering if that significantly limits our chances. THANKS!

Welcome back and sounds like a great trip. We just returned yesterday after 10 days in SoCal and 8 of those in the parks. I wanted to mention that we were in that same line for TSMM on 8/14 although a bit further back. We were also doing MM on 8/12. Well, at least me and my DS14 were up early enough! Looks like we just missed the Dream Team at Pinocchio since we headed for Space Mountain and the Matterhorn before going to Fantasyland. Welcome back!

It sounds like you guys had a great time. I sure hope we get dreamed on our trip. I don't remember spotting the DT the last time. Are the passes good for all the rides? Also, do they just mean you can bypass lines and get to the front? Are they good for only one ride apiece, or can you ride an individual ride multiple times? I'm still mailing entries, so maybe we'll get something in the mail before our trip.:yay:

Hi heatherleigh...to answer the questions...the dream fastpass is good for the day you received it...there are two fastpasses...one for Disneyland and these rides: Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blaster, Autopia, Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin, Splash Mountain, Indiana Jones Adventure and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad...and one for California Adventure the rides are California Screamin', Mulholland Madness, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Soarin' Over California and Grizzly River Run...the fasspass are good only once per ride...they will snap off the ride tabs...you use the fasspass line for that ride.

The Dream Fastpasses seems to be handed out early in the day...this way you can use them for both of the parks...JC

Just an FYI, but the Dream FP's are good on any day after you receive them. This was told to us by the first Dream Team members(yes, we were dreamed TWICE in one week with dream FP's!). They said it was unadvertised but you could actually use them any time. We tried this and had no problems. Someone must have been unaware of this because they left 4 dream fastpasses on top of a garbage can with BTMR and Splash fastpasses still attached. We thought "what the heck", so we took them and used them the next day. Also, we were dreamed in CA both times, and both times were between 10:30 and 11:00 am.

yay you got dreamed!! :woohoo: how exciting! glad you all had a great trip!! i really hope we get dreamed when we go...its never happened for us! lol

I'm also wondering about the strikers? We are leaving on this Friday 8/22.

The only thing we saw was the mess they created when they sat down in the middle of the intersection of Harbor and Katella completely shutting it down. There were some pretty irate CM's who were trying to get home on public transit that were stuck.

Welcome back! :)

I am very glad that you and your family had a great time. :flower3:

I heard from a friend that in a news report on Friday early morning, Mickey and other were arrested in costume. Apparently they were in the esplanade between the parks. Has this already been discussed in another thread? I don't want to bring up old news here... but since we seem to be discussing the strike I thought I'd ask...

You are smart to ask if the strike had been discussed. It has, maybe check page 2 or 3. I was down with my family and wasn't aware of any strike until my family got caught in the middle of it. I posted a thread not realizing the topic was being discussed but it looks like someone got mad at me for posting twice etc....good luck, don't worry too much because even though we were caught off guard we had sooooo much fun anyway...
