I remember a review I read that mentioned and showed a drink called the Back Scratcher. Where do I find it, what's in it and how much does it cost??? We leave a week from today and my BFF's hubbie has a goal to go back to Japan and buy another back scratcher, and I thought this drink would be a fun surprise for him.

Meyer’s Rum, Light Rum, passion fruit, orange, and guava juices, and Jack Daniels. Plus an actual bamboo backscratcher.

You can get them at the Tambu Lounge and the restaurants at the Polynesian.

Yummmm.....I still have my backscratcher from the drink I got at the Ohana's back in 1999!!

this was posted on the drink thread:

Think between 10-15 dollars. With tip, with most drinks.

When I had it at o'hana's last october, it was $9 plus tax/tip.
I bought it at the bar and took it with me when I was seated.

What is your favorite drink @ Ohana' Mac? I never tried the pineapple drink. Want to. But, I hear it is very strong..Hmm.. Will, I be able to walk?:lmao:

I still have mine too! It still works:)

Me too, but I don't remember where it is. Now I want to go find it.

The only thing slightly disappointing to me was I was hoping that the back scratcher at least said "Walt Disney World" or "Polynesian Resort" on it or something. It was just plain.

I still have my tiki head glass that I got at the old Coral Isle Cafe back in the day. It has "Polynesian Village" printed on one side and the Walt Disney World logo on the other side.

Since I have 5 of those backscratchers at my home from buying that drink, I have to say my favorite drink at O'hana has to be the Backscratcher.

Yes, I think it is a strong drink, but you'll still be able to walk.
I didn't remember what I ate after I had the second Backscratcher that night.. ........

The booze in it just crept up on me when it finally hit me.
I couldn't taste the alcohol in the drink so I didn't realize how strong it was until I finished two of them.

If I was with you while you were having that drink, I would have put a mickey sticker on the wooden back scratcher to make you happy......

Well thanks. Not permanent, but cute.

I expressed interest in one of the other drink vessels (may have been a fake coconut) and the bartender said he would look away if I dropped one in my tote bag but since it also didn't have anything printed on it about WDW or the Poly I passed on the opportunity.

you bet!
light and dark rum......

you should get one next time.
it's a pirate's drink....:rolleyes1

well, I am a little spooked by the backscratcher!!

(true story) when DW an I were at Disneyland, we bought a backscratcher at the open market that used to be in the center of the Disneyland hotel, long story short, I got a ride to the local ER for "backscratcher jabbed into eye"

Macraven, thanks for the fond pictorial memory! That drink was lovely!

I also had the drink in the pineapple and for the amount of liquid you get, it's disappointing! Before I knew it, my pineapple had run dry! <sob, sob>

The pina coladas are good but from what I recall there isn't anything fancy about them.

I had a backscratcher a few years ago - it was lovely - loved the fact I got an actual backscratcher too!
