We can't decide between these 2 counter service restaurants for lunch. Any opinions out there? It will be myself, DH, and 3 children 5 - 11 yrs. Which has a better atmoshphere, food?

Thanks!

My family always enjoys the ABC Commissary. There's an excellent variety, served fast and always plenty of condiments for your sandwiches.

As to atmosphere, the only counter service at WDW with "it" is in MK at the Columbia House, IMO. Most are just busy places. WDW counter service restaurants have improved over the past few years to include a better variety of foods to accomodate their guests.

We ate lunch at both this past July. The commissary has TV's that run promos on ABC TV shows while you're eating. Both pretty much have the same fare. Hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken fingers are exactly the same. The commissary has a couple of different lunch items that Back Lot doesn't. You can see menus at http://wdwig.com/menu/menus.htm#mgm. We seemed to enjoy the commissary with the ABC TV promos going on. Back Lot has an Indiana Jones type of theme in the seating area.

If it's hot outside, ABC Comm. has air-conditioning whereas Back Lot is outdoor (well, under a roof) seating!!!
