Just on the Eurostar now. Here are my thoughts on our wonderful trip. *:)

Highs

Tower of Terror.*
This was always a walk on and through being polite to one of the CMs loading us we got to have one of our many rides in English. Great to hear as it's different to the US version I think.*

Cast Members.
*Pretty much everyone we came across was lovely and friendly and helpful. Much better than we were expecting from past visits and recent comments. Some of the ToT CMs were really in character and excellent. :)*

Big Thunder Mountain.*
Sat in the back every ride an had great fun. Especially last night at 10:45pm in the dark. :)*

Dreams
Wonderful show. Really well done and beautiful. :) Jack and I both agree though that with some better song choices it could have really blown people away more. It just didn't tug at the heart strings like other shows do. *(For us that is -of course fans of Quasimodo and King Louis will disagree)*Did love it though. Especially the Tangled part.

Inventions lunch.*
Loved it. Will be a must do each trip.*

Lows

Closures.*
Soooo many restaurants and snack/drink stands were shut. And rides too. Lots of breakdowns. We missed rides on Snow White, PotC, IJ, SM, RnRC and BTM due to them being down.*

(Related to my first point) - Understaffing.*
Other guests were allowed to get away with apparently anything due to their not being enough CMs about. Climbing over railings, on buildings, getting viewing spots for Dreams in flower beds standing on benches and bins. Shining laser dots on the castle during the show! Yes the guests are the ones misbehaving but we saw no one get told off. There weren't even any CMs to be seen in the hub.*

Me not being well.*
(Not a DLRP issue) I've been put on new medication recently for thyroid problems and adjusting is taking its toll a bit. So I suffered a lot with the heat and having the stamina with the long opening hours. We did everything we wanted to but I do feel a little bad that we had longer breaks than we would normally have on other trips. We also missed Walts last night as I just felt far too ill to sit in a nice restaurant and eat a big meal.*

Highs that became Lows.*

Hotel New York
It didn't really become a 'low' that's a bit unfair of me. We got a lovely room and really enjoyed the hotel. But next trip we'll spend the extra and return to the DLH. It just has that extra bit of magic that really makes the trip super special.*

The Weather
We were spoiled with gorgeous sunny weather. But for me not feeling great the heat became and issue. And the shops and covered areas of the parks just became ovens! More AC is definitely needed!

Lows that became Highs

Jacks brownie.*
On Wednesday we went to EoS and got a sandwich to take back to the room to share. When we got back Jack realised he'd left his brownie that he'd bought in the counter. Yesterday we went back and Jack forgot to buy a brownie so went back up to the counter to buy one and the lady let him have it free. :)

Other thoughts:

Toilets
I was really worried before going that they were going to be awful. But most appeared very clean. (Some had paper/water on the floor by later in the day) It's just that some really do smell quite bad. I think it's a case that they need a complete replacement. As the ones that do smell even did during EMH do it's stuck in there. Or it's the drains or something. Ones that I found OK were the ones near Fort Comstock and Videopolis. Neither smelt bad to me. Worst were the ones near Stroller Rental (didn't go in them but could still smell them) and the ones by Autopia were bad too.*

Will do a TR soon.*

Any questions please ask. :)

Welcome back, pleased you enjoyed your trip. Shame you weren't feeling 100% for some of it though.

Welcome back!! :wave2:

Glad you had such a great time. I can imagine the weather being that great was pretty tough if you were ill. It's so hot here today and although I'm really hoping it doesn't rain when we're then, I really hope it's not this hot either!!

I'm really pleased to see you loved the Inventions lunch as I'm now considering this!! It's too expensive for us during the evening and I always thought it was the same price in the day so avoided it. Was there a lot of choice still? My OH desperately wants to try the huge prawns he's seen in all the reviews!! (he's easily impressed!! :rotfl:) but I wasn't sure if they'd have as much during the day.

Hope you're feeling better now! I spent most of last year feeling dreadful thanks to my thyroid and it's half the reason we didn't go to DLP last yearl. I know how rubbish it can make you feel and don't know how you managed half of what you did!! I'm terrible at taking my meds, always forgetting! so I'm trying to make sure I take everything so I'm tip top for our trip! I'm also anaemic and don't want to be nodding off on small world etc!!

:goodvibes Glad to hear you had such a great trip despite you feeling ill. Looking forward to the TR

Glad to hear you had a good trip and you rated Inventions too...

We're planning eating here for the first time in July and wasn't sure if it was such a good idea... but after reading a few recent TR's that highly rate it i'm feeling a lot better about my decision to eat there!

Inventions selection was great. Whole buffet completely full. Everything there that I've seen in any photos from other guests.

There were plenty of big prawns. ;)

We aren't that fussed about the characters. So lunch was ideal for us. Only a few extra € on top of our HB+ vouchers and it's was lovely and quiet.

Fab, thanks Torsie, I shall pass those comments on to DH!! :goodvibes

We're not really fussed about the characters as will do that at Cafe Mickey anyway and the children just get so distracted they barely eat so it's not worth paying Inventions prices for them!

Glad you had a good time and thanks for reporting back - we're going to Inventions for lunch and getting really excited about eating there! What were your favourites from the buffet not to be missed??? Thanks:thumbsup2

welcome home
glad to hear you had a lovely time and lovely weather (so get ya in regards to the heat - its really hot here today and I have been seeking out dark corners all day!)
Sorry to hear about your thyroid meds throwing you off, see that with my sister too and her thyroid meds.

I have an admission.... I was one of the people that hopped a railing for a decent view and not to make excuses but I was losing the will to live at that stage. Two full on days (wedding/next day), blisters on my feet, a DLP walking tour, 4 days of walking all day every day and after all that we had a good spot for Dreams but had to move (twice) as not very nice people plonked themselves on top of us and we were left with bad views. So we gave in to being a bit bold and hopped a fence to see it properly.

Glad you had a great time despite the lows. :goodvibes

I have to agree about the Disneyland Hotel! Now I really like the New York and Sequoia Lodge, but there is just something rather special about the DLH. :wizard:

Welcome back, glad you had a great trip :goodvibes

I'm another one of the thyroid problem crew....hope it sorts itself out soon :)

Thanks everyone. I've only just been diagnosed with thyroid problems but I'm glad I have a reason for feeling so awful and tired. Fingers crossed I get my levels all sorted soon. :)

And I forgot a HUUUUGE high!!

ANIMAGIQUE!!!!!

It was shut our last two trips.

Oh my goodness I LOVED it!!

Since I saw Philharmagic in WDW I was really sad and confused why DLRP didn't have it. Turns out it has Animagique which is different but just as lovely!

:) Love it. :)

Oo I love Animagique too! It's one of my favourite attractions!

Aw if you've just been diagnosed it will get better soon once the medication starts to kick in. I wound up having a massive energy surge for a few weeks. I'd forgotten what it felt like to feel normal and just thought I was lazy!

welcome back torsie!!!!!!!!!

sorry to hear bout being ill - having been ill in heat before i know how awful it is, and how awful to be ill at disney as done that one too.... (ok, that doesnt bode well for my next trip does it?? lol)

Welcome back! :wave2: Glad you had a great time but sorry you were feeling poorly.

glad you had a good trip - you're making me excited for mine next week now!

Animagique is one of my must dos ... in fact I've just booked for October to take my mum and dad back (they've not been since 2008) and we were all singing the animagique song in the car park yesterday when I took dad to the hospital for a check up. Everyone else must have thought we were mad!

So pleased you had so many highs!

Sorry to hear you were feeling ill - the heat obviously won't have helped. Hope the meds kick in soon and you feel a lot better.

If you get a chance to do a TR, I can't wait to read it - no pressure though :rolleyes1.

PS - Did anyone notice your fab nails?

Never really thought about going for lunch -- you've got me thinking now...

I'm not bothered about seeing the characters at Inventions either because we are going to be doing Cafe Mickey and we can see them there.

Do you know if you get the same selection of food at lunch and dinner?
