Just on the Eurostar now. Here are my thoughts on our wonderful trip. *
Highs
Tower of Terror.*
This was always a walk on and through being polite to one of the CMs loading us we got to have one of our many rides in English. Great to hear as it's different to the US version I think.*
Cast Members.
*Pretty much everyone we came across was lovely and friendly and helpful. Much better than we were expecting from past visits and recent comments. Some of the ToT CMs were really in character and excellent.
*
Big Thunder Mountain.*
Sat in the back every ride an had great fun. Especially last night at 10:45pm in the dark.
*
Dreams
Wonderful show. Really well done and beautiful.
Jack and I both agree though that with some better song choices it could have really blown people away more. It just didn't tug at the heart strings like other shows do. *(For us that is -of course fans of Quasimodo and King Louis will disagree)*Did love it though. Especially the Tangled part.
Inventions lunch.*
Loved it. Will be a must do each trip.*
Lows
Closures.*
Soooo many restaurants and snack/drink stands were shut. And rides too. Lots of breakdowns. We missed rides on Snow White, PotC, IJ, SM, RnRC and BTM due to them being down.*
(Related to my first point) - Understaffing.*
Other guests were allowed to get away with apparently anything due to their not being enough CMs about. Climbing over railings, on buildings, getting viewing spots for Dreams in flower beds standing on benches and bins. Shining laser dots on the castle during the show! Yes the guests are the ones misbehaving but we saw no one get told off. There weren't even any CMs to be seen in the hub.*
Me not being well.*
(Not a DLRP issue) I've been put on new medication recently for thyroid problems and adjusting is taking its toll a bit. So I suffered a lot with the heat and having the stamina with the long opening hours. We did everything we wanted to but I do feel a little bad that we had longer breaks than we would normally have on other trips. We also missed Walts last night as I just felt far too ill to sit in a nice restaurant and eat a big meal.*
Highs that became Lows.*
Hotel New York
It didn't really become a 'low' that's a bit unfair of me. We got a lovely room and really enjoyed the hotel. But next trip we'll spend the extra and return to the DLH. It just has that extra bit of magic that really makes the trip super special.*
The Weather
We were spoiled with gorgeous sunny weather. But for me not feeling great the heat became and issue. And the shops and covered areas of the parks just became ovens! More AC is definitely needed!
Lows that became Highs
Jacks brownie.*
On Wednesday we went to EoS and got a sandwich to take back to the room to share. When we got back Jack realised he'd left his brownie that he'd bought in the counter. Yesterday we went back and Jack forgot to buy a brownie so went back up to the counter to buy one and the lady let him have it free.
Other thoughts:
Toilets
I was really worried before going that they were going to be awful. But most appeared very clean. (Some had paper/water on the floor by later in the day) It's just that some really do smell quite bad. I think it's a case that they need a complete replacement. As the ones that do smell even did during EMH do it's stuck in there. Or it's the drains or something. Ones that I found OK were the ones near Fort Comstock and Videopolis. Neither smelt bad to me. Worst were the ones near Stroller Rental (didn't go in them but could still smell them) and the ones by Autopia were bad too.*
Will do a TR soon.*
Any questions please ask.
