I used to go out to get fast food for our(nurses). Well it was a pitiful situation. One would want a hamburger without onions. One with onions and minus pickles and on and on and on. IF someone offers to take your order and go out ORDER WITHOUT BEING PICKY. If u r picky go yourself. ty had to get this off my chest. diane (nurse also):eek::eek::eek::eek:

I wouldn't have a problem with any of those requests.

If you don't want people to order what they want, don't offer to bring back lunch for them.

What's with all the complaints over fast food orders lately? Drive thru, no-drive-thru, too many orders, too complicated...blah blah blah.

If you aren't willing to get people the food they want then don't offer to pick up food for anyone.

I agree with you about this. Your nice enough to pick up food for them, then they give you a list of things they dont like? If you dont like onions, pick them off. Simple.

I dont like onions, so I would go for my own food I guess, but I guarantee you then, that I would not be picking up any food for you, regardless of the simplicity of your request.

This thread reminds me of a former co-worker. She and I were partners, we worked together on the evening shift as dispatchers for a regional medical dispatch center. I was the dinner 'go getter' usually...at least for the first couple years because she was more experienced. She wanted her burgers plain...that is a burger and a bun and NOTHING else. There was no 'just pick it off'. If there was any hint of ketchup, mustard, pickle, etc. she would not eat it, no way no how. You'd think this wasn't such a hard request, but would not believe how often people would get it wrong.

I used to hold up the line by opening the bag and then her burger and verifying before pulling away! LOL

Its not like she is the one making the food, she offered to pick up food. If you don't want to pick up food that people eat, then don't offer to pick it up. Even more simple.

You know what's so Great about complaints like this??? It shows how well things are going in the OP's life. When you're going through traumas, you focus on that and everything around it. When you take the time out to actually complain on a message board about a coworker not wanting onions on a burger, i will take that as a sign that things are really great.
I remember after 9/11 reading an article about how complaints were way down following the attacks- they surveyed people who manned the customer service phone lines - a drastic drop in complaint calls. The country, as a whole, was reassessing priorities, letting the minor annoyances in life slide, pulling together. Over time, the phone calls crept up to previous levels, but for a while there - we were able to take things in stride.

:lmao: You got a point there. Lol! I suppose it really doesnt take up a lot of extra time requesting "no onions" or "extra pickles". You can always write it down if you dont think you'll remember.

Well you should be glad that you don't have to order my food. I don't eat onions, mayo, ketchup, mustard, and salad dressing and there is no way I am going to order and just "pick off" the mayo, ketchup, mustard or salad dressing.

I really don't see how it is a big deal to write down everyone's order and then repeat to the person taking it. You are saying a few more words at most.

OP, I get you...;) I think its very nice of you to be willing to do that for your nurses but I find it a bit too much. I would decline your kind offer and order it myself. I know how confused order takers get and having to check the order to make sure its right, etc... I can also see how you offer to buy for 2 or 3 and then other people stop and say.. oh, and can you buy for me too?

I know you are trying to do something nice and some can take advantage. Did anyone ever offer to do the lunch ordering for you?

I glad there are so many people, like the ones on this thread, who do not have an issue with it, maybe they are kinder and less selfish than I am... When I offer an hand, I don't mean you can just grab the whole arm as well :thumbsup2

Somebody needs to write down all the rules about ordering fast food because I am apparently out of the loop. Maybe something laminated I can carry in my car.

Where I used to work, someone would occasionally go out and pick up food for everyone. Special orders were not a problem at all. Before the person left everyone would write down what they wanted on a piece of paper. When the person ordered the food she would simply hand the paper to the person taking the order. That made it easy for everyone and there were rarely any wrong orders.

Anytime we needed to do any kind of special orders, we'd call in the order rather than placing the order at the counter/drive-thru.

Very nicely worded. :thumbsup2

Since you can't go through the drive-thru, it won't do you any good. ;):lmao:

We now have an official complaint thread for these issues ;)
