So back home from trip 10. I'm not very good at trip reports as I always forget what we have done so here are the edited highlights.

Highs:
I couldn't believe how quiet the park was at the start of half term - Bank holiday Monday the queue for BTM was still 10 minutes at 10.30! It was mainly Brits so there was a very orderly queue!

Weather was good - no rain again.

There were a lot more characters around than when we visited in February, sometimes in places not advertised, eg we saw Darth Vader outside Videopolis, and chased Scrooge McDuck but he wasn't stopping.

Cowboy Cookout - first time we had done this. It was quite good value by Disney standards, and fun with the characters, although it can be a bit of a scrum!

Cafe Mickey - fab as ever. Lots of attention for each table, Mickey even shooed away a child who kept trying to get his book signed while my son had his photo taken with Mickey (he did sign it straight after), and we met Genie for the first time!

Follow the Leader with Peter Pan - fab show!

Following advice from this board we renewed ds's annual pass and then got a carer's ticket for dh each day - saved us 99 Euro! Again in general the staff were very helpful and supportive of ds.

Lows:
again very few! but how can Caseys make fast food service so long??? We stopped for a hot dog and drink on the way out on last day, and it took nearly an hour!

- last morning we got a fast pass for BTM for 11.30, and promised ds a play in the park by BTM after it. Totally our fault but we lost track of time so were just getting on POTC at 11.35 and missed the fastpass time, then found the park was closed! That's why we went for the hotdog!

Can't wait to start to start planning again!

sounds a brill trip - I must make a mental note that May half term is a school holiday possibility in future :thumbsup2.

aww sounds like a really good trip :thumbsup2

i would have waited an hour for a casey's hot dog with cheese mmmmm yummy :rotfl2:

oooh you were at darth vader at the same time as us :) we too were sooo surprised at how quiet the queues were, amazing
x

Sounds like a great trip. I have heard a couple of good reports of the cowboy cookout from last week but we really didn't enjoy it. I think sometimes it is just down to the the day/time you visit:goodvibes. Glad you had a great time

Great to hear you had such a good time.

Can you tell me about the Follow the Leader show please? My two kids just love Jake and the Neverland Pirates so I think they'd like this, but I'm a bit unsure whether they will be a bit scared of a HUGE Captain Hook, lol!

Thanks in advance.

I was dreading going in the school holidays now DD was at school but May half term was absolutely fine (apart from ascenesion day but that was just unlucky it fell that week). Definately recommend going May half term during the week and will be returning then again. The Sunday and monday of that week were still part of the cheapest summer price band which was a bonus :woohoo:

Welcome back, pleased you enjoyed your trip:thumbsup2

It was brill but it is traditional Peter Pan, Wendy, Michael and Smee characters. Not huge Captain Hook - just man with posthetic nose! The show lasts about 15-20 mins. They choose some kids from audience to dress up as Lost Boys, and pick some dads to train to be extra pirates, and they get a certificate at the end.

Kas1 - maybe we met at Darth Vader? DS was a bit scared so we didn't queue, just got a picture from the back.

Kazzabelle - Caseys chips were my downfall - first fast food chips since starting the diet in September and probably responsible for the weight gain this week (well, them and the 4 pizza's, beer, lots of bread etc...he he)

Welcome back :wave2: we were there Sunday through Tuesday and I couldn't get over how empty the park was! I kept thinking they were all in Toy Story Playland and then found that relatively empty too! Didn't see any of the ride times go over 50 minutes - I'm used to seeing BTM and Crush clock up over 2 hours in the summer! :rotfl2:
