Hi,

Got back last night from our 2 night/3 day trip which was organised by the social club at my work. Thought I would do Highs & Lows but as there were no lows just little niggles, thought I would mix it up:)

Highs:
Weather, very cold at times but dry except for a couple of showers and downpour on drive home.

CM's all bar one were fab especially the guy in City Hall who when I asked to make dinner reservations he said "for me but I already have plans!":rotfl:

Food, finally got to eat in Earl of Sandwich, wow will never be having lunch anywhere else the food was scrummy. I had the Hawaiian BBQ on day & was going to have it the next as didn't want to be disappointed but went for the Original which was just as nice! reasonably priced and great staff. I had a Coke one day & the syrup had run out, I spoke to the manager who said no problem she will sort it, 2 mins later it was done.

Also had lovely meal at Annette's plenty of food on the plate & very quick with meals even though they were really busy.

Restaurant des Stars, again had a fab buffet here. Plenty of choice, all hot & fresh

Billy Bob's buffet was good but not as good as it has been but it could have been because we were later.

Christmas season, I have been a couple of times and this is getting back to how it used to be. I went spoiler free for the Christmas things so was nicely surprised. The Calvacade was good & I love how they are using C'hante C'est Noel for the tree lighting.

Dreams, I think this will always be my favourite. Really hope it stays.

Riding Indiana Jones & Thunder mountain in the dark is just awesome.

Love the room theme of Santa Fe, they are looking very fresh. Hate the beds though!

Block really close to bridge over from Cheyenne, probably similar walking distance as SL from here.

I like having the room key given in envelope at checkin and it will activate at 3pm, it certainly saved time having to queue up again later.

Had a lovely drink in the DLH, the pianist was there playing.

Loved the Ginger bread house in the reception area, I have photographed the ingrediants and going to persuade my mum to make one next year:lmao:

Longest we queued was about 30 minutes, everything else was pretty much walk on, did RnR 3 times in a row, could have done more but needed to stake a spot for the parade.

Toilets & everywhere else very clean.

Niggles:

Staying at the Santa Fe for first time and its confusing to find room, especially as some blocks are shared but have the same room number twice on floor, we were block 33 and room 225 but didn't realise block 24 shares with this and has 225 on the same floor. We worked it out after 5 minutes as we saw others in out group go down a corridor & not return.

CM at check in wasn't helpful, he didn't show us on the map what block we were in just said room card is in envelope & it will activate at 3pm. Also had someone in our groups Cafe Mickey voucher which I explained wasn't mine as we wasn't doing that. CM replied its in my envelope so will have to sort it with the person. Thankfully I knew them and they were only next door to us. All the other staff we came across in hotel were really friendly & helpful apart from him.

The beds at Santa Fe are hard, they are all like this now. I first had one in the DLH, then the refurbed SL and now here. I hate hard matresses. I need to stay in Hotels which haven't been done up yet:rotfl: Love the shower though as its very powerful:thumbsup2

Don't like the bar at the Santa Fe, it has no atmosphere & don't like that you have to go and order at the bar, prefer to be served at table. Don't mind at SL as you can sit at the bar.

Sometimes on Aerosmith the music didn't play, and on occasions they are using live concert music so you can't really here it. When it does play the old music it is very clear and loud.

As I said just little niggles, would stay in Santa Fe again if only using it to sleep like we did this time. I do like the rooms but everywhere else was lacking compared to the others but the price was right & we literally only slept in the room.

Really enjoyed the trip, it was tiring we walked about 25 miles in 3 day (I took my pedometer). My cousin has said to look at other forms of travel next time. We will need to as I borrowed my dad's car to take which he is now selling as he doesn't need it now he has retired. My car is a convertable and not suitable for more then 2 people. Probably look at going Eurostar next time.

Can't wait to book my next trip:)

Wow 25 miles that will sure burn off those EOS.

Glad the Christmas decorations didn't disappoint. I'm really looking forward the cavalcade.
