Back from Wyndham Palms Resort & CC

sncbird,

I belong to wyndham by request and they sent me an email about a 72 hour sale and this was the reduced rate. We were looking at 220.00 a night for two rooms at all stars for 2 nights. I couldnt let that price get away. Good luck in finding a great price.

We have a three bedroom booked through wholesale travel at $118 per night, but a timeshare tour is required. Hotel Kingdom said they can get a three bedroom, if you ask, but I did not find out the rate.

This is such a great thread on the Wyndham Palms!

Disney845 - - excellent hotel descriptions, very helpful!!!

Thank you everyone for your honest resort reviews, they mean so much to us fellows DIS-ers that are staying there in the future.

Has anyone put a review on TripAdvisor.com yet? I will when we get back.

I'm so excitied, one week from today and we'll be there. Anyone know how long it takes to get to WDW from the resort? I'd like to know what time to wake up in the morning to get ready for the parks opening.

:)

We stayed at the Wyndham Palms in July. We had a great two bedroom, two bath unit. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

The drive to WDW is short - about five minutes. It's easy to get to WDW from the Wyndham Palms.

Have fun!

I'm so happy to read these reviews. Stephen and I are taking his mom for her first ever trip to WDW on Oct. 18th. We have 7 nights reserved at Wyndham Palms Resort, with a night at Sierra Suites our 1st night and 1 night at CbM the last night. We took a quick tour of Wyndham Palms in July and would love to be able to buy into the property. Unfortunately the $$$$ just aren't there for a time share this year, but if we ever can buy-in, Wyndham Palms will be our home away from home.

We stayed at Wyndham Palms last July and absolutely loved it! I would go back in a heartbeat.
I have one tip about the airconditioner that we learned the hard way - the doors to the patio have sensors on them, if they are left open/unlocked, the airconditioner turns off. After we found that out, it worked like a charm!

A big thumbs up for the Wyndham Palms. Just got back and really enjoyed our stay. Our 2 bedroom villa was huge, well appointed, clean and new. At 1500 square feet, it is the size of 5 Port Orleans standard rooms. There are 74 operational channels on the television, including Disney World and Universal Parks channels. My wife and 2 toddlers adored the roomy Whirpool tub. WP's proximity to Disney World cannot be beat. It is 5 minutes from the Dolphin Hotel. There are signs all over Disney property directing you to 192 West, so it's very easy to find from any of the parks. The pools are nice but not spectacular. There is a well stocked tiki bar at the main pool. The free weekday continental breakfast (8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.) includes milk, o.j., muffins, danish, cereal, Trix yogurt and fruit. Check out time is 10:00 a.m., but if you're a Wyndham by Request member, you can request a noon check out. If you have a rental car, and can live without Mickey soap and Disney theming, this property is a fabulous choice.

Tigger---thank you thank you for posting your review. I can't believe how big your room was! I'm so glad that you liked the resort. It sounds like you had a fabulous time there. Just a few questions-- Did you get to pick which building? How was your check-in? Did you request non-smoking?

I can't wait, I'll be checking into the resort this Sunday!!!!

After reading such great reviews, I'm more excited than ever :)

wdisneelvr, Sorry, I'm not much help here. The only thing I requested was a ground floor room. (I have 2 small kids.) If you can get a third floor room facing the theme parks, you should be able to see the fireworks at night. (Don't worry, there are elevators). Keep in mind, the two or three buildings nearest the main pool/check in area are a busy place, with lots of folks on golf carts taking the timeshare tour. I'm not sure I would want to stay in a building that close to the action, but that's a personal choice. The resort is expansive, so you may want to drive around a bit when you first arrive, and look for a building in a location you like. Then go to check-in and make a request. The views of the golf course are sensational. I'm not sure how the smoking request thing works. I never smelled any smoke. In fact, the building we stayed in was so new, you could occasionally smell fresh paint. As Martha Stewart would say, "that's a good thing." Check in was a breeze. They were very helpful and friendly. You'll be pleasantly surprised at how close WP is to WDW. Have fun, and let us know what you think ..

We are DVC members who are going to WP for our 1st time this weekend. we are eager to see what everyone is raving about!

Question: we are doing the ownership tour...any comments on it from those who have participated? did you purchase? How would you compare to DVC?

thanks

AbbeysDaddy--here is a link to their website. I don't know if they have internet access, but you could give the resort a call to find out.

I will be doing a timeshare tour while staying there. I will post my reviews when I get back.

Abbeysdaddy,
Someone posted awhile back that it was a hard sell and they will come down in price the longer you wait. Another person said it was not so bad. My husband and I will be there Sunday early. We are prepared for the hard sell, but hoping for the not so bad. I think the units are supposed to be very expensive. Have fun. See you there.

Thanks all for the replies......we arrive tomorrow.....see you all there and have a great time!

Hi this is regarding the question about internet access. We were just there the 20th-30th. We did take our laptop with us and were able to connect to the internet through the phone system.
There is a hole on the phone in bedroom and kitchen for dataport.
If you sign up as a Wyndham by request member you will get free local and local long distance calls.
We hooked up nightly to K.I.T. with family and it didn't cost us a thing.
BTW It is a really wonderful resort.

Thank you for the info on the internet access at Wyndham Palms, that is good to know.

It sounds like you really enjoyed your stay there, what did you like the best about it?

Leaving tomorrow and I can't wait, see you all there!
