Got back on Friday night from 4 night family trip to Davy Crockett Ranch. We drove from north east using euro tunnel so 12 hour journey both ways!!
It was very cold, but beautiful blue skies on Tuesday and Wednesday and we had some snow on Thursday!
Highs
Forest of Enchantment show - lovely to have a new show with great songs and a really nice mix of characters. It amazed me how under promoted this was - first advertisement was on fence of Big Thunder mountain! It was in the programme, but no photos or posters anywhere!
Spring decorations - so pleased these were up as they weren't last February. Loved seeing the easter eggs aroud the park!
Hunters Grill buffet - Really good food and very relaxing. Haven't been here for years so it was nice to return. We went after park closing so didn't feel at all rushed.
Salon Mickey and Shareholders club - Missed this last time, but bought remaining 95 shares this year so was able to take full advantage of discount and Salon Mickey. This was particularly good as staying in Davy Crockett meant that we could use it for breakfast.
Lows
Just the refurbishment work in Frontierland and Adventure land. I am really pleased that it's being done, but it looked a bit depressing. Also having 2 Fastpass rides down was a big miss this time!
Know before you go
There was a lovely kiosk selling forest of enchantment refreshments next to Chapperal theatre. As it was cold we all got lovely hot drinks - hot chocolate and mulled wine to to take in. We were stopped and told to finish them before taking our seats!! Annoying as they were almost 5 euros each and we had to knock them back quickly, we also had to give up our position in queue so didn't get as good a view from our seats!
As we were eating after park closing we thought we would try and park in Disney Village car park. We couldn't find any way of using free parking (easypass) here so we went back to the main car park. When we left at about 10.30 pm the gates were locked at the usual exit, so had to find alternative view. Ok for us as we had SatNav, althought it sent SatNav lady into melt down
As it was so cold we spent some tome relaxing in DLH and using thier wifi to book restaurants for WDW in the summer!
