We stayed in a 3 bed/3 bath TH 4/14-4/21--just me, DH, and DS9. The TH itself was very nice--except for the 1, count 'em 1, washcloth for 3 people :rotfl2:. DS loves to get those washcloths that are in a little square at the parks, so since he bought a bunch of them, that's what we used. I did call the management company just so that they wouldn't think we made off with the washcloths--I left a message--really it didn't have any impact on our stay, I just thought it was kinda funny. Anyways, back to the review--the splash pool made our week!!! DS and I spent every night after busy days in that pool and it was a great way to wind down. We got the pool heat and I was so glad because the first few nights it was pretty chilly out. We really didn't cook too much--a couple of breakfasts and reheated leftovers but it was nice having coffee in the morning without having to walk to a foodcourt to get it. Loved the washer and dryer--came home with all clean clothes. I always end up doing laundry on vacation anyways so this was nice and convenient. Beds were comfy and we had lots of space. Community pool was nice. DS said the slide was fun but he got bumped around alot so he only went down a few times. Playground was cute--we went there one morning--lots of kids having fun there. All the staff were nice and it was very quiet at night--the only place where we could escape the crowds. Close commute to Disney parks--having a car was great.

The only downfall--and it is a biggie but not related to Windsor Hills itself--is that for our family it didn't work. My DH is not really a big theme park guy--although it was his idea to go to Orlando :sad2: --he wanted lots of breaks just when we were having fun. So either he ended up exhausted and grumpy or we ended up disappointed. With onsite for us the convenience of him being able to go back to the resort and meet up with us later is priceless. And for this vacation, the money we saved on offsite we paid for with aggravation. We did have a good time overall, but it just wasn't what I expected and looked forward to, KWIM? Like I said earlier, that splash pool was awesome and was one of the highlights of the whole trip for DS. Next time we go to WDW--which will be when DS has his own children according to my DH :scared1: --we'll stay onsite just for the convenience and peace of mind. Sorry for the long post :) .

Thanks for the report Bridget. That's too funny about the 1 washcloth :rotfl: I know alot of people love WH and I'm sure for good reasons. But I'm with you....the perks and convenience of being onsite cannot be beat for our family. Years ago, we would bring my mil with us to WDW. She would get tired and having the disney transportation to get back to the room by herself was so convenient. Now that our kids are teenagers, we really appreciate this perk. They LOVE being able to come and go at will.

We still stay offsite at our timeshare (and enjoy our stays there), but staying onsite just seems so much easier and less aggrivating because we all don't have to be at the beckon call of eachother's schedules. My teen son, for one, loves to sleep in until 1-2 pm and then go to the parks. We prefer getting up early. Staying onsite allows him to get his sleep and then meet up with us for lunch.

So....any pics ? I'd love to see some photos of your TH if you have any.

I do have pics--just have to load them in the computer--coming up soon.

In hindsight, we should have spent 2 or 3 nights on site at Universal and then moved to WDW. Would've kept the rental car too--loved being able to get around Orlando. Eventually DH will get that theme park amnesia and I'll be ready with a new plan :thumbsup2 .
