We had a great time except for when U.S. Air ruined both of our luggage. We paid $15 each to check 2 pieces and when they arrived, there was a wheel missing off of each one so we had to drag them through the airport.
Went over a few feet to a U.S. Air baggage office and they looked at us like we were aliens. Basically, "we don't care, we're not responsbile". The red piece was brand new and never even saw the light of day until we went on our trip. The blue one was 2-3 years old but only at the airport once before this trip. Two people in that office and both couldn't even look up from their computers (no customer were even in there) to acknowlege us. Then, I looked closely at the blue one and it was ripped right across the front from left to right. Again, no response and shrug of the shoulders like, "not our problem". So, we left dragging our luggage. I will never fly with them again. We came back on Delta and were treated much better.
Went from April 1st until April 5th.
Wow, what a difference the beginning of our trip was as to the end of our trip. So glad we got in a couple of days before Spring Break and the weekend hit. Thursday and Friday, both parks had 15-20 minute waits and some even had 5 minute waits. As long as we were there early in the morning on Saturday, we had no problems. Sunday was horrible. By 9:30am, there was a 60 minute wait for Hulk.
Thank you everybody for suggesting Mardi Gras. The kids had a blast. Well worth the wait. My 6 year old had about 40 strands of beads around his neck.
Cashed in my Superbowl voucher with no problems and only took about 10 minutes at the window.

Sorry to hear about the way you where treated by us air and thats the reason I won't use them cause at airport on our last trip I noticed those guys just slinging people luggage and when I tried to tell thier agents they looked at me like I was crazy but glad to hear that didn't ruin your trip :thumbsup2

OMG, what a pain with the luggage! They could at least have given you a voucher. ATA did that when they damaged a piece of ours once, just to make us go away (worked fine because we were flying them a lot at the time so we were able to use it). At least that was back in the days when luggage used to be free...what an insult that you actually paid to have your bags damaged!

Yeah, I didn't even think of that. Way to add insult to injury. So sorry about the luggage but I'm glad you had a good time otherwise. :)

I got a speeding ticket on my way to the resort last year and I just had to brush it off. 80mph on the turnpike in the fast lane. Lock me up and throw away the key. ;)

Sue, what a yucky way to start a vacation. Glad to hear that the rest of the time was great. It is neat in Mardi Gras to see little kids loaded down with beads. It is amazing what a thrill they get out of it all.

I hate luggage issues. I almost expect it when travelling to Asia. Almost always have broken luggage when going to the Philippines. Just wrong when you are travelling to Orlando.

Thank goodness the rest of vacation was salvaged.

We had a similar incident with luggage just last month. We flew US Air to Vegas. Upon arriving back home, we got our luggage, and my husband's nice new suitcase was ripped to shreds across the front! The whole front panel was hanging off. It was late at night and we were tired, but mad. We went to the baggage office and they were really nice about it. They said we could either have them send it out to see if it could be repaired or leave it and they would give us a new one. They had several new suitcases in the store room. We did pick one to take, but it's not was nice as the one we had. They also gave us some vouchers for money off our next flight. But it makes me wonder what they're doing with this luggage at US Air! Sorry you didn't have much luck with your damage though.

Glad you had a good time, sorry your luggage was messed up.

i hate when that happens.
suitcases/luggage should last at least 2 trips a year.......

now tell us all about the fun you had...

any rides awe you?

any special places where you thought the food was worth a second time around?

we are curious.......:goodvibes

We loved all the rides.
Kids (11, 13) really enjoyed Hulk. I didn't ride it because I waited until Sunday and by the time we got to the park, it was a 90 minute wait.
I loved Dueling Dragons. Rode both sides. Definitely thought fire was faster and loopier.
I thought The Simpsons was awesome!!

My son (11) was in the park on Saturday and got asked to sample food and do a survey. Most of the time we just quickly walked by those people and said that we didn't have time. But, dh was with him and stopped and said OK.
I was on a ride with my daughter and was told all about it when we got to them. He went into a restaurant and tried two different foods. Something like cheesey pizza without the sauce. He liked both of them and it only took about 10 minutes and they gave him $5 in Universal money. He was thrilled.
I also loved Fear Factor Live. DH tried out and was a contestant but lost in the end. It was so much fun though.
Does anybody know what the prize is? When I talked to customer service on the phone before we left, she said it was a great prize, ticket related but she couldn't say what it was. I also asked the girl at the Fear Factor attraction after it was all over and she said she is not allowed to say. Anybody know?
We didn't eat at the park except for Buger Places. They were pretty good but expensive. Wish I tried Mythos. Someone at the park we met said it was really good. We just didn't want to sit for long. We wanted to eat quickly and keep moving. And, it's almost like as soon as you pass, you don't want to back-track to eat.
