We went to DLR for a very short trip--2 nights! We were there April 18-20 and had a blast. Made full use of almost 3 days in the parks.

I flew down to Long Beach and DD drove down from San Luis Obsipo and picked me up at the airport bright and early. We drove to the hotel, checked in and they noted we had requested a room over the lobby, preferably 3rd floor. We dropped off our bags then headed straight to DL. We'd planned an Adventureland theme for our first day so we both dressed accordingly. I felt slightly self-conscious on the plane but got over it quickly :)

We headed for Adventureland and were disappointed that Indy was closed, but that's the way it goes. We got on the Jungle Cruise and sat right in front next to the skipper. He liked us and he was quite funny, too. We could tell he enjoyed having an appreciative audience sitting right there. Did HM, Pirates, etc. Lines were pretty short at that point.

Found a TS's res on the app for 11:30 am and booked it. We took the monorail over and got to sit in the nose :) There was a cute family of 3 with us and we all enjoyed sitting up front, but our captain was apparently having a very bad day. She never smiled or acknowledged any of us. Her loss :D

Hoofed it over to TS's and had a blast sitting at the bar! Ordered drinks and a shared platter, but man, my drink was like pure alcohol. I'd ordered a Zombie so I expected strong, but I mean to tell you, there was NO juice in that puppy! I took a sip and literally choked, ha ha! I've had zombies there in the past so it wasn't like I didn't know what it was supposed to taste like. DD had gotten a shark drink? It was blue with strawberry stuff in it. It tasted nice but I tend to avoid food coloring in myt drinks :) . Mine was made by a young guy and hers was made by a very nice woman who noticed I wasn't drinking mine and quietly removed it and asked what I'd like so I just ordered the same as DD's since it did taste good. MUCH better. We had so much fun--DD was so sure the tiki eyes were specifically following her. Everyone got into the special effects and DD's stool very slowly descended without her awareness of it. When she finally noticed, it was hilarious and she loved it!

We were then able to check into our room and it was perfect! Right on the 3rd floor, right off the little lobby!! Fantastic!

DAY ONE cont'd:
We then went into DCA and rode Guardians and looked in the shops. We bought some goodies and decided it would be nice to have a bread bowl and soup (separately) to take back to the room for later. At the room, we took a little rest since we'd both left our houses at 3:30 am. When we woke up, we had the soup and bread and looked around the hotel and sat by the fireplace for a while. I honestly don't remember what we did after that, ha ha!

DAY TWO:
We headed into DL for EE the next morning. We went straight for Space Mt but...it was closed due to "technical difficulties." Oh well! We then tried Matterhorn and it was also closed. Nothing was open except HM and we'd already done that and it was way across the park so we just got in line for Rise. They warned us that they'd been having "technically difficulties" but we were welcome to stay in case it got fixed so we decided to stay. At that point we were pretty close to the place where you go into the locker room area anyway. Sure enough, it opened up shortly after that and we got right in. So fun!

DD had gotten us LL for the day so we took advantage and got in a lot of rides. DD had never been on Mickey & Minnie's Coaster and she really enjoyed it. We mobile ordered from Bengal BBQ and ate at a nice table next to the jungle river where they sell the bao buns. Made good use of the LLs and went back for a quick rest at the hotel. Then...we got ready for our big night!! We had a dinner reservation at Club 33, so we got dressed up and headed over. DD was so excited! It was a great meal and I'll include a pic of the menu and the dining area (I erased the people in it), but I don't think I took any pics of the food except my dessert.

After the club, we wandered a little and decided it was a good time to try out our jacuzzi! So we got our suits on and made our way out to the pool area. While we were happily soaking, we decided it would be great to revisit Trader Sam's, haha! We quickly changed clothes and hoofed it over. It was only a 5 min wait before we were texted. They told us we could go inside but we wanted to be on the outdoor terrace. The main reason we went back was because DD wanted an Uh Oa bowl :D and who am I to argue with such logic? So that's what we ordered. I've had a lot of uh-oa's in my time but I swear I got the same bartender as before because it was SO STRONG. I mean, my daughter is a college senior and she knows strong drinks and even she could barely drink it (at first). But we had fun throwing cinnamon on the burning sugar cubes and chanting. Somehow, we managed to drink it (there was a lot of ice) and she got her take-home bowl and we laughed about it a lot.

The next day we tried to go into DCA for EE but found none of the main attractions open, just like what happened the day before in DL. We tried Incredicoaster first (though it was noted in the app that it was closed). We saw that Webslingers was also closed, etc. We asked at each place why they were closed and they all said the same thing: technical difficulties. That's what we were told at DL the day before. It was Easter weekend, so I was wondering if maybe they had a lot of employees call in sick or something, but the attractions all opened after EE was over. We still had fun--got on Guardians and Soarin again but never did Incredicoaster or RSR. We had to check out of our room but my flight didn't leave until 7 PM so we went into DCA because DD had never been to the MK lounge. We had a nice table and a few snacks, then went and looked around some more. We decided to try for a late lunch at LLL and got a res on the app for 20 min from then. We had a great table, got nachos and something I don't remember.

DD drove me to the airport and we both left for home. What a fun time we had!!!!

I love your outfit! You two look like you had a blast. That's a great room location. Was there any noise from the little lobby? Can't wait to hear the rest of your trip report :)

Nothing's better than a Mom and Daughter DL visit. :lovestruc I can't wait to read more.

I've had the red and blue slurpee drink a couple times. I think it's a Piranha Pool. There was one time when I ordered some type of Bourbon drink that sounded good on the menu and I couldn't drink it because it tasted like pure alcohol. Sounds like whatever you had. What I drink there now is the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Rum. It's bascially rum and pineapple juice with nutmeg on top. So, it has a sweet and refreshing taste without all the chemicals of the red and blue drink.

Oh, I love this trip report! And if I’m not mistaken, I’m pretty sure I’ve had that exact same room at the GCH. I think we stayed in that room in November 2023. It was pretty magical, opening our door and having the Christmas music pour in and walk a couple of steps and look down on the tree.

I love your report and I can’t wait to hear more. I am also shocked that I never knew about the moving barstools at trader Sam’s. Now that I think about it, I think I’ve always sat at a table inside and never at the bar, because I’ve always had my daughter with me. I guess I’ve been missing out!
